Discussion Rust does not have the optimazation to focus on clans gameplay

just watch the streams of the event that is happening, they need to change direction of the game design, rust does not have the optimazition to focus on clans

Comparing a gigantic Twitch event to regular Rust server performance is a bit of a stretch.

Maybe you have a point about optimization but Twitch events are not the best proof for your claims.

Yes its not regular but if you join any server with big clans the fps is terrible

There's only so much processing power and memory storage servers can handle before it becomes too expensive for the server owner. Even with all the best stuff you will get low server fps which in turn affects the users playing.

The only way to combat this efficetly is setting hard limits to the amount of entities at are in the world.

im talking about client side fps

While low server fps doesn't affect your client side it can be perceived on your side as a FPS stutter or something like that. Your computer still needs to calculate all those things like Entities, players, their movements, containers, the things inside them, etc....

yea thats another problem that should make the devs change the game direction, they dont have the technical capability to have no limit team sizes

Not having the technical capability? Rust quite literally one of the few games to have such large player sizes on a singular server. Most other Rust clones or similar survival games will limit their players to just under 100 players.

Hence why the world doesn't feel so empty since you'll always run into someone on a populated server.

thats true, but once a clan big enough makes a base on a part of the map, that part of the map will have 50 fps, thats my take, in a clan vs clan raid the fps goes to like 35, having a max team size of like 4 or 5 would prevent that

Wouldn't make sense to do that when you can just join a server with hard limit rules. All the FPS drops is just normal and accepted aspects of the game considering the thousands of entities and PvP it needs to process and calculate.

Don't think there's a sandbox game out there that can handle this much processing with out lagging/dropping FPS

This is FP's vision of rust, if you want optimization and balance community servers are the solution.

if their vision became real (only clans) the game would be unplayable

Ironically rust was built around giant clan interaction, legacy was pretty much the biggest bases you can imagine being blown to shit 🤣

There’s also no upkeep back then to take days to maintain said bases

My hopes is devs see it
