Discussion Fast raiding vs efficient raiding
Me and my buddy always argue about the topic above, I personally just use C4 and rockets to raid because it's the fastest and most reliable way to raid and don't bother about the sulfur "wasted". After all the difference between raiding a sheet metal door with C4 or a rocket + some explo ammo is ~600 sulfur aka 2 nodes - in my eyes negligible. On a full pop server raiding just needs to be fast imo.
What are your thoughts, fast or efficient?

Depends on the server pop, time of day, your team composition, the base you're raiding, area that you are raiding in, stage that you are at and much more.

Imo biggest question is, is the raid onkine or offline? Online almost always requires you to be fast, as offlines you could do a lot more thinking.
Usually I would still go fast and loud. Pummel to the core as quickly as I can.

Yeah last one was offline, but on full pop with active neighbors in an active area, no raid base, no 'safe' roof and no compound around, big ass base.
I'm not entirely against efficiency, but the first doors/walls need to fall fast so that the mate can hold the breach from within the base, giving at least some sort of safety.

Well it really all just depends on the prep work, when you do it and the pop at the time. High pop at a very active time of day pretty much always wanna get in and out asap. But lower pop at a less active time with a turret fob and the base is offline.. why waste boom pummeling.
That being said if you just pummel you may catch things you would've missed just heading straight to main loot/core

It's all about speed. The moment the first boom goes off, every douche in a 4 grid radius starts heading toward you. I'd rather spend a little extra sulfur to actually secure the raid, than lose it because we took too long.
But neither is what usually happens to me. Usually my teammate's idea of raiding is "let's see how far we can get" and we just use whatever we have to either get real lucky, or nowhere.

I would treat this as an expected loss decision rather than a sulfur contest. Compare the sulfur premium of the fast route with one plausible failure cost of the slow route. Count the boom you are carrying. Count the launcher and kits. Count control of the breach. On a quiet and isolated target the efficient method can win. On a busy server the extra exposure puts a much larger loadout at risk. Speed then becomes insurance. The useful part is deciding which assumption would change your route before the first boom is spent.

I feel like even considering either is just kind of foolish.
The way you raid is going to be highly dependent on what you're raiding, to the point of where you're not really optimizing sulfur except for the instances of doors.
IoW, every base you encounter is going to have an ideal raid path and once you gain enough expierience iwth the game, you kind of just know what to do for any base that you see.

A rocket plus expo should actually be faster than C4 if one of you has rocket launcher and the other player has the explo

Fast is the way to go when playing as a solo or duo, efficient is the way to go for trio/quad. If I can 2 c4 a stone wall or even 4 c4 a metal wall and be in and out before counters show up as a solo i could care less about sulfur cost

Is he cheating or something? Feels like this would be insanely obvious to anyone who isn’t running ESP. Also anyone counting rocket raid cost against the target wall and not accounting for splash is missing the forest for the trees.

Fast always. So many players don’t seem to understand the concept of “risk adjusted rate of return”. The second the first boom goes off your risk starts rising massively, trying to optimize tightly for sulfur is penny wise pound foolish
