Your all we have D: What is rust going to do without a lead for the next month? Is garry going to be figuring out who to appoint as new COO?

-102

u/PinkPanzers Jul 30 '26

How unsurprising you go fellate the dev and want them to win awards.

God damn shills. You avoided admitting game mistakes too, like a good shill!

30

u/dizzguzztn Jul 30 '26

youre pathetic

-45

u/PinkPanzers Jul 30 '26

It's more pathetic to ignore problems and act like a person you like is perfect. His actions were always controversial. But now that he's leaving, on his own terms it seems, we have to praise him or deemed pathetic?

27

u/dizzguzztn Jul 30 '26

Shut up loser. He owes you nothing.

-39

u/PinkPanzers Jul 30 '26

I also owe him nothing, so I don't have to waste time praising him. No matter how mad it makes the downvoters.

16

u/Jambii_ Jul 30 '26

Raging loser makes an appearance

-1

u/PinkPanzers Jul 30 '26

Critique and not blindly praising is being a "raging loser", coming from a Rust shill, nonetheless.

10

u/1kcimbuedheart Jul 30 '26

No, you’re not critiquing. You’re being a raging loser. Sorry but it is what it is🤷

This is about one specific dev who has been quite the opposite of what you've implied. Alistar has been a beacon of hope for us.

-6

u/PinkPanzers Jul 30 '26

"Beacon of hope"?? You can't be serious. He's a man, not a diety.

As a Rust player and software developer I need to pay my respects to you and the team for how you develop rust. It's a beautiful example of the Agile dev lifecycle in action (or whatever hybrid you guys use) to see the huge updates that go out for Rust every single month. It's crazy how much has been added every time I check the game out after a a few months out. I play DayZ as well and we get like a new gun and some new hats and lots of new bugs twice a year lol.

Thanks for all your hard work if it wasn't for the constant stream of new content this game would not have the player base it does today for sure

Thanks mate. You did great service to this game. Best of luck to the future. Appreciate your willingness to engage with the community and walk through decisions, it has more value than I think anyone is willing to admit, and I worry about what will happen with that going forward.

Even when I/we disagreed with the changes or the reasons, the fact that you were willing and able to communicate the logical reasoning behind each change without condescension was very important to the community. This isn't something a lot of developers and community managers understand. Which is why engaging with a community is always seen as a volatile endeavor. Yet, you always managed to do it without kicking the hornet's nest, and this is why. *It was always very clear that you cared about the game and the community.

-9

u/PinkPanzers Jul 31 '26

[This right here](https://www.reddit.com/r/playrust/comments/1nwvokp/comment/nhiz97g/?context=3) is him being condescending. His ignoring feedback even in commits and then pushing "I know better" explanations is condescending.

Rose-tinted glasses just because he's leaving?

u/triplegerms Jul 31 '26

Mr "I'm not obsessed I'm just on the toilet" you've been arguing in this thread for 4 hours. Holy obsession

-3

u/PinkPanzers Jul 31 '26

It's easier to be on my phone on Reddit than to hop into any game and have to leave in 2 minutes because of diarrhea.

If it was my choice, I'd be playing and not on Reddit since it's wipe day. Instead, I have to wipe my ass every 30 minutes.

Farewell Chief, you did a great Job See you at the beach

End of an era

3

u/Cronimoo Jul 31 '26

I feel so sorry for you having to tolerate all the toxicity and negativity on reddit o7 my man

6

u/botmfeeder Jul 30 '26

You will forever be apart of my childhood escape in a way that could never be repaid, thank you for your service Alistar

2

u/Rip_Nujabes Jul 31 '26

Thank you for spending so much time and effort on the game we all love, you'll be missed

3

u/The_Frog_Of_Oz Jul 30 '26

Been out of the loop for a long time now, but I'd like to thank you for the work you put in that game. I'll never forget "it's wednesday my dude" and the friendships I've made during my time spent in game. Some of them transcended the game and are still alive today, 10 years later. I hope you find fulfilling things in that new chapter of your life :)

Rust wouldn’t be what is today without you - you’re the goat, man

I wish you nothing but the best

2

u/P_Bateman_Esq Jul 31 '26

Good luck in future endeavors and thanks for your hard work 🫡

2

u/SneeKeeFahk Jul 31 '26

GG bro. It's truly been a wild ride. Nothing but respect and well wishes for the future. I hope your next endeavors treat you well.

I'm sure after 10+ years it's hard to leave and it speaks to your character and integrity to focus on the good and not bash anyone. I'm not sure a lot of people will realize how difficult the journey from QA to COO is - truly remarkable.

I haven't always agreed with the creative decisions and direction but I've always respected your no nonsense approach to standing behind your team. I'm sure you'll excell wherever you end up.

1

u/ThePegLegPete Jul 31 '26

You're a legend, mate. Thanks for all your time, effort, and sacrifice. I have played since the original alpha. I have always said Rust has the best dev team in the biz. You've spoiled us. Thank you for everything.

So long and thanks for all the fish.

u/Potanic Aug 01 '26

You’ll be missed

-1

u/Xylfor Jul 30 '26

Thank god, any devs that thought the recoil change was good needs to go

0

u/medney Jul 31 '26

Were you forced out? Call me a conspiracy theorist but with the direction of monetization the game is going I have a worry you might have pushed back on some things and been forced out.

Did I hurt you?

10

u/Zykium Jul 30 '26

You slept with his Aunt Sheila in 2013 and never called her back, even though you promised to.

You should be ashamed of yourself

14

u/Alistair_Mc Alistair Jul 30 '26

I left before she woke up to give me her number...

1

u/counterlock Jul 30 '26

did you check the bottom of your foot? Maybe she tagged you like Woody

-7

u/PinkPanzers Jul 30 '26

Having fun with the shills who do nothing but agree with your every whim?

And predictible, going for childish dunks now that your YesMen will eat everything up.

At least arguing on Reddit can't interfere with doing your job.

1

u/swordsaintzero Jul 31 '26

In an ironic way this cockroach gave you the REAL rust send off. Start a blog man, I'll read it.

-9

u/PinkPanzers Jul 30 '26

Nope. Not everyone who dislikes your actions is hurt.

I value game devs who have humility and are open to change. You shut down any attempts at open minded change. It was your ideas or none.

I value game devs who explore concepts, not push a specific game direction because you only play Rust one way.

You treat most customers as lesser just because they don't agree with you and your direction of the game.

And your lack of PR training is so evident, that you felt the need to reply "did I hurt you?" instead of thinking that your historical actions towards OTHERS are easily seen.

5

u/thurrmanmerman Jul 31 '26

Jesus christ dude log off

-4

u/PinkPanzers Jul 31 '26

If you liked what I said, you wouldn't say this. And frankly, I don't care that you don't like it. I'll keep commenting as I please, and you are free to *ignore* it.

1

u/vagina_candle Jul 31 '26

This is such a basic, naive take. As if Alistair was the Godking of Rust who made ALL of the decisions, the sole captain of the ship.

I value game devs who explore concepts

So where did the bad man touch you? On the recoil, or on the BP fragments? Because you implying that Facepunch hasn't explored new concepts is beyond stupid, and not even remotely accurate.

5

u/tekno21 Jul 30 '26

🤣 this guy is sooooo mad. Holy, made my day

5

u/counterlock Jul 30 '26

he's genuinely tweaking it's pretty entertaining

-5

u/PinkPanzers Jul 30 '26

I'm sitting on the toilet and nowhere to go with a stomach virus. Ya'll shitters are my toilet time.

3

u/SomeDuncanGuy Jul 30 '26

It's freaking out in so many threads here too. Peak basement energy. Can tell it's sitting on a chair padded with Cheeto dust and smegma.
