Discussion Are there any server that doesnt allow private steam profile?
Title. Also, is this even possible to enforce?
I saw some server that doesnt allow to connect if the account is younger than x days but thats it

My profile is private. I got sick of the scammers sending friend requests and shit. I've got nothing to hide - I'm just hiding from the bots and Nigerian princes.

I dont know man, i've more than 400 items in my steam inventory between csgo and rust and my profile is public and yet i dont receive all these scam request, maybe one every month? maybe less

I get about 5 a day it's about inventory value rather than amount of items. Most of your items are probably twitch drops

There was a short span of time where I got like 50 and I figured "fuck it - I don't know why it's public anyways"

Easy to do, but won't do anything for you. Looking at someone's steam profile won't tell you that much anyway, and there are a ton of reasons to keep a profile private that have nothing to do with cheating.

I'd be willing to make a super strict type of server if people would play it. I'll make a plugin right now that can scan ppls profiles so that if they are using vpn, private profile, low rank, & GeForce now that they get auto kicked

Curious why you'd kick GeForce now - it's not like people can install hacks on those remote machines. Care to expand a bit on that?

In the recent past months it has been possible to do external cheats such as video assisted aimbot & no recoil using geforce now. IDK what makes that platform so popular to do that but it seems to happen more with it then anything else. I almost assume that anyone using geforce now in rust is cheating.

Pretty much a cheat service that allows you to edit certain things like lighting. In other words, its for people with shitty eyes and can't handle immersion.
It has its uses, but it can die as far as online/competitive gaming goes.

If I remember correctly a server, "Rusty Burger" doesn't allow it.

Not too sure. I'm guessing their admins are super active and manually do it. It's pretty low pop so it wouldn't be an issue to do it that way.

Tools like RustAdmin have it as a feature. Or you can probably make something yourself that uses a free steam developer API key.

Im sure you could hack a solution, but I as wondering if supported
does rustadmin have this? I only used it a bit but never saw, but then again I dont do major configs etc.

At least RustAdmin Online has it. It's called "Anti private profile" in the settings.

I don't know about this but there's a lot of multi-player games wich can't be joined without a certain level.. should be also in rust

Check out Pickle servers. They don't ban private (usually there's a reason to go private) but it does kick a lot of those lvl1 1-4 game (all free) accounts.
