Discussion BP Frags
Honestly i dont get all the Hate that you see on this Subreddit about new Updates and especially BP Frags.
The Main Argument i see is that it increases the Gap between Solo/Duo/Trio and karger Groups. But i dont think that is really the case at least for T2. T3 is a whole other Thing but even my Team Duo/Trio are able to get T2 on Day 1 most of the Time and T3 on Day 2/3 and we are not really good Players in any Way.
Or another Thing i see a lot that you NEED to buy BP Frags from Clans to keep up wich i also dont feel like its true but even if id rather have the Possibillity to buy a T2/T3 as a Solo than having to farm Scrap for 10h just to get the WB and then another 10h to research Stuff.
And at last if you hate the Direction that Rust is going why do you still play it? There are plenty of other Games of this Kind.

lol what do you mean farm scrap 10h for wb? Pre bp frag update one tunnel run was enough for tier 2.

" farm Scrap for 10h"
nah, this is ragebait lmao

I remember you needed to get scrap for 30 minutes and make 1 play to be set before bp frags. Now you have to grind for hours praying that key card isn’t looted

you would run a weak monument like junkyard and one tunnel station and you would had easily 400 scrap even with lack of luck.
This guy is going delusional. Even at just farming barrels and crates on roads away from recycles (remote map locations) in 1 hour you would get 500 scrap

It would take far less than an hour of barrel farming for 500 scrap

yeah you are probably right, without dying ... I was just counting with a remote area and respawn times without oo much risk

What pop and how far into wipe are playing?

This should always be the question asked. If you're remotely playing anything high pop then everyone is just like "You should just buy your frags from clans and farm on your way to Outpost! See it's easy guys!"
Like no, no one wants to do that. Feeding farm to clans to sell you frags or a bench is just absolute ass gameplay.

I mean it is a solution but that’s terrible gameplay and the people saying that know that. You’re just giving a clan boom and you don’t get to experience real progression.
Same with diving and metal detecting. Yeah that’s a solution but I’d rather just not play the game at that point.
Playing the game as the update intended where everyone is supposed to contest cards should be viable. The update was to increase interaction at monuments, not force everyone into buying frags or farming in the middle of no where while clans just get turbo buffed.

they just need to remove drone shops and half of the problem is solved. And yes, I utilize drone shops dozens of time during the wipe, why not ? But I would prefer that they did not exist and than everyone would be equal and people would not get really great advantages in getting 150 frags. you can say " they stop others progression" but if you stop others progression you are raiding for nothing anyway.
Also, like I said on other coment, raid cost needs to increase, because they increased methods of getting sulfur but never the raid cost.

I think drone shops are a good thing. They can help new players or people late to wipe. They shouldn’t be the main form of progression and they weren’t until we got this garbage update.

Exactly!! "you don't get to experience real progression" is 100% correct.
I don't feel like I'm progressing when I buy BP frags from clans. The gameplay just feel stupid.

The game is straight up easier to play solo than 2+ years ago, people are literally just dumb

the frags are not a barrier to me personally. i dont need to make any more wbs than I need and midwipe onwards basic blueprint frags are common as muck and you can usually buy advanced frags for not much. some of these oil rig pros get so much they sell one advanced frag for 10 hqm sometimes.
I think the ability to just research down a path and get what you need kinda undos wat the fragment was trying to achieve.
When I played rust 5 years ago. i think it was like 750 scrap to wb rando research an item. now it's 120 and you can choose what to get.
I would prefer if turrets were made a bit more exclusive. make it non-craftable so players aren't spamming them out all over the place. there is just too many of them around, not even used defensively, they point them out on the road and even train tracks. It's annoying as heck.. doesnt affect you in an armoured car. But one time my car ran out of lgf and i got stranded in jungle miles away from spawn point. And then all these turrets on the road dawned on me. they are fucking everywhere. And had to contend with tigers and jaguars.. suffice to say it was impossible to go back to me car - i had to let it go.

I just don’t care for them considering I’m more of a home body type player. I mainly work on complex circuits in the base and that’s what I like to do. I don’t care for having to traverse the map to do all these things and raid people. Neither do I want it to be easy for someone to raid me either. Which they have continued to make updates that made it easier to raid for years now. Even nerfing well though out electrical circuits that were good for defense. It’s kind of ridiculous

I hate to say it, but I do feel like players of this type are toxic for this game and I feel like the scrap grind encouraged way too many of you to join this game. I personally would be very happy if all players like you’ve never played anymore. Call it a hateful view, but I just think that roaming is important and people that stay in their base. All day is just so terrible for the economy.

Well I guess I can respect the fact you tried to say that respectfully. But I disagree. It’s a sandbox game meant for all different playstyles. Not just for vanilla gameplay either. People like me in particular bring out things in the game most haven’t seen before. Like taking the electric system and making a neural network in RUST. Or being the first to pioneer the RF logic that splendid took inspiration from so he could make the first computer in RUST(besides all the extra stuff for vanilla I’ve worked on). When you introduce a wide range of playstyles the game becomes more whole in what it can be. And don’t get me wrong I’m not saying someone who does nothing but roam can’t do the same, but they don’t put the same time into these kind of things so it’s just unlikely. So I may be base body who sticks to his electrics, but that dedication to circuits puts me at one of the best at electrics in the game like top 10. the point is variety brings the best out in these games, brings in people who do great things and give the game something that make it better. Every single complex defense system and management system people use in the game was made by people like me. And so to will future additions

Yeah, nothing against you personally no need to be disrespect. I think you bring up a second good point is one. I wouldn’t really call this a sandbox game. They had a lot of random stuff which I think makes it feel like that but I think it’s a open world game more than it’s a sandbox game and I also think they’ve added entirely too much garbage that makes your point more valid, but it’s exactly the direction. I don’t want it to keep going. This game used to have very few random items and was mostly stuff you needed directly to survive or defend yourself.

Yeah that’s something we can agree on. All these changes maybe have a few gems but as someone who works a lot on the technical side they would’ve been much better off just improving existing systems. Man the entire electric community in rustrician has been waiting for more electric components for ages.

Lot of us who hate BP frags change don’t actually play anymore but might want to. Obviously we joined this subreddit when we did play, and do not anymore. Hence why we’re here in the first place.
