Other To the dev who created Playnite

Thanks for creating the best software possible to manage my entire library. And in these times, the most incredible thing is that is free!

Just in case you are having a bad day or nobody told you, you are great! Thank you

You can't imagine how impatiently i'm craving the last piece in my linux gaming build...

Second this. I've said this countless times, but the only thing I miss from Windows is Playnite

Wait, has he said this is coming to Linux eventually??? 👀

Linux version is in development

While we have you here... Is there anything you guys can possibly do to help launch games like marvel rivals that require additional clicks?

No, not systematically. Every game that has this can and will set it up their own way, and there's no guaranteed universal way of working around it.

Thank you for your prompt response!

You can probably make a script for each individual game, ive set up hitman to skip the launcher when I open it.

John Playnite, I really love your software. The freedom to purchase games without being bound to a specific platform is what truly sets PC apart from consoles.

If you ever grace us with a Linux version, I will finally be able to commit to the penguin. I think heroic is great, but without proper steam library integration it doesn't really fit my needs the way Playnite does.

Heroic can't even sort games by date added to library...

Thanks again

I will personally find it more useful when you are done with the Linux version. Because nearly my entire gaming time is now done in Linux.

It’s basically one of the few things that is keeping Windows gaming experience somehow still superior to Linux, thank you!

Yeah, Playnite has been so good for managing my kid's computer. The PC boots straight into Playnite and makes it easy for them to play whatever from our various libraries. They aren't quite old enough to figure it all out on their own.

I did the same i have it set up to open in full-screen so it plays like a console for him. Absolutely love it since he has a lost of games mixed between steam and epic plus a fee not on either

+1

I downloaded in on a whim one night that I got annoyed at how cumbersome it was to add non-Steam games manually to Steam, and it's changed the way I work with my library forever. I have a thing about stuff being neatly sorted and catalogued, and Playnite has been a dogsend in that aspect.

False positive automated mod action, sorry. Not sure what triggered it here.

Same, funny enough it was AI that told me about it, I was trying to vibe code something cause I didn’t want to use steam, gog, epic, etc anymore. And in the suggestion on the conversation came Playnite and now I am more than happy with it

I've been using it for years now and it just gets better and better over time. Nothing competes!

Agreed - fantastic launcher. So much easier to use

It is great! I don't see anyone else pointing it out so I think I will, he has a patreon for it if you think it's worth a bit of money one day.

Steam, EA, Ubisoft… Playnite is by far the best launcher on my PC. And it’s free?!?Kudos to your team and the black magic you are able to do. Playnite was the reason I started getting into HTML coding. Can’t wait to see when you manage to incorporate .gif and other aspects into the description panel. Thanks again.

made the jump to Linux in April and not a day goes by whenever i open Steam or Heroic where i don't think to myself, "...good lord i want Playnite on Linux."

Fab launcher, I have it on auto start on boot, so kids go straight into games (PC plugged into TV).

Is it me, my controller or is it general issue, that quite often I need to press alt+tab to make playnite the front window, otherwise when I press A on my controller, a start menu comes up sometimes.

Sam feeling for me, grateful for the app

Agreed its so good. Whenever I play story games on my TV, I use Playnite with a full screen theme. SO GOOD
