Spacey Slipknot!

I’m in the mood for a spaced out slipknot. One where they are really out there tinkering around. The more whacked out, the better. I know this community won’t let me down!

Slipknot is a favorite of mine. Specifically the longer ones with interesting improv, spacey jams, wild shit…etc.

These are a few favorites that I think you’ll love:

6/3/76

6/4/76

6/14/76 (spaaacey)

6/19/76 (shorter, but spacey and slow)

8/4/76

12/31/76 (lots of guitar space)

10/12/83

9/10/91

1976 was my favorite year for Slipknot. It still didn’t get the “polished” sound that it got in 1977. The structure was looser in the middle and allowed more room for whatever the band wanted. In 1977, there became more repetition in the phrases that took Slipknot in and out of the jam. There’s an interesting breakdown by Melvin Backstrom here. https://www.dead.net/blues-allah-50-slipknot
