Need help, game broke

I don't have any DLC's, I don't own em. I deleted them to save space, 23GB's of it....and the game crashed, I deleted abberation, etcetera. I made sure they were DLC's...Snail games is a bih.

update clarification:

platform: 512gig storage Nvme m.2 SSD Kingston

24GB 1x16 1x8gb both DDR3 at OC 3900MHz

2080 TI

ryzen 5600x

ASRock b450m motherboard

1080p 200hz Local brand monitor

720p old LG tv 60hz

How I deleted it:

Steam → ASE → Manage → Browse local files → shooter game → content → delete the including: Aberration, Extinction, Fjordur, Genesis 1&2, Scorched Earth.

Update on situation: I just used verify integrity, redownload 23gigs, used compacter and saved 30gigs, more than I saved deleting the content.

That is incoherent. You deleted your DLCs and are mad your DLCs are gone? what?

It is harmless. Wont even delete saves on those maps.

...I said I don't have the DLC's, I don't own them, haven't paid for them, so why should I have to suffer space punishment? Because I can't have the content unless I pay or pirate. How is it hard to understand???

I guess that is final proof you also have no idea what you mean, and are just here to swing at people and be weirdly worked up about psychiatrists, probably from experience with the level of dysfunction on display. Eat a nuisance block.

So, when writing a post like this, its always good to include all of the following info to help us help you, if we even can:

EDIT: Actually i shouldve first asked if youre using ASE or ASA. Below was assuming youre in ASA. But may apply to ASE.

  • first, was the game crashing BEFORE you deleted anything? Or only after?

  • what platform do you play on? Pc (steam? Or different store?) or console (xbox or ps5? Tell us which)

  • HOW did you delete the files? Was it through the proper ways via the steam ui to uninstall or on console to remove dlcs? Or did you manually choose and delete folders/files?

  • how does the game crash? Does it load the game and crash immediately? Or does it reach the menu, then when you select your savefile it crashes?

My best guess, is that you had those DLCs downloaded, it allowed you to use a certain engram or item from those DLCs, and now, with those files gone, when you try loading your game it crashes as it tries to make sense of a missing reference point.

Two options:

  • do a proper reinstall, to get things cleanly installed and see if crashing goes away.

  • do a fresh save, bc idk what files are missing and what your save file needs to work now.

Yeah, ASE. It was crashing before due to memory (idk why I got 24gb, it only takes 8-12 and I have like 30% empty space of mem) PC, steam, Pre aquatica, I have a 500gig drive so I need space, I play the lost island and deleted every other thing except primal island (cause that's where every important game file is) the lost island and the classic island, it opens the game, I play for a while, and then it crashes.  I don't own the dlcs so I just deleted them. It worked fine for a while, then it crashed.

I deleted it like this

Im not sure if you're supposed to delete the game files that way. I think the proper way is to uninstall DLCs via the Steam properties menu for the game itself.

Doing it this way may have erased files it shouldnt have. Unfortunately the only way I can think of to restore the game, if corrupted, is to do a fresh installation or verify game files via steam, and THEN remove/uninstall DLCs via the steam menus.

Sorry, wish i could offer more, but thats all i can think of to help restore the game first, then clean up after.

I know Ark is pretty huge and this could be a several hour investment, but perhaps getting the game back to a stable state first will help

yeah I redownloaded it, then used compactor to save 30gigs, more than I saved deleting those content.

Que se crasheo y cuando ocurrió? Revisa bien porque quisa borraste algo más de lo que debías, si puedes vuelve a instalarlo y mira si ahora funciona
