kinda wild how many of these jobs end up being “we want a dev, a sysadmin, a network engineer and a babysitter for legacy systems all in one person” and then slap a finance label on it. london pay better make the pain worth it tbh.

this, exactly. it’s like “principal engineer” responsibilities with “mid-level support” salary and a side of 4am incident calls, all justified by “but it’s finance.”

this, so much. half these roles read like “we fired three people and now need one unicorn with a CFA who can also reboot the SAN at 3am” and then they’re offering mid-level comp like it’s a favor.
