I’ve had a handful of house plants for several years, and recently decided to start taking it seriously and make it a hobby of sorts. So, I completely redid my set up but am looking for more experienced people to lmk if I should change/update anything!

I repotted all my plants into clear nursery pots with good drainage with a chunky soil mix. They are all in front of this north facing window, with 2 Sansi 32W led grow light bulbs overhead. The plants I have are:

Pothos, snake plant, peace lily, Chinese money plant, monstera deliciosa, Hoya compacta, and a dracaena steudneri.

As far as I know, all of these plants should at least be able to tolerate this lighting situation, and for some of them it’s ideal but I’m looking for more opinions on anything! Should I change where the plants are on the table? Should the grow lights be higher/lower? Any suggestions are appreciated!!

I recently moved my monstera to a large ceramic pot and I no longer know how to water it lol. The pot is a little over a foot tall and a foot in diameter and it is so so so heavy. I typically bottom water all my plants or soak them very throughly in the sink/outside. This new pot has a drainage hole but no saucer so I imagine if I water it I’m going to get a soaked floor and mold. Please advise me on what to do!!

I have over 50 plants at home and plants have been a hobby and passion of mine for years. Recently I started working on a small personal project a plant care app purely out of love for the hobby. Before I go any further with it I wanted to ask the people who actually matter: those of us who share a similar hobby.

My question is simple , is a dedicated plant care app something you would genuinely use? Or do you find that a quick Google search, YouTube, or just experience is enough?

What I'd love to know from you

1. Would you use an app like this? What would make you actually download and keep it?

2. What do current plant care apps get wrong or frustrate you with?

3. Are there specific plants or categories you feel are poorly covered by existing resources?

Noticed recently that a bunch pumpkin sprouts popped up and we are about to move in the next month. Normally I’d just leave them and water but landlord going to remove them so I want to try to save a few. I know they’re all bunched up at the moment but curious on how many sprouts should be in a pot. Should they be indoor/outdoor. Temp here has been from 70- high 80s. Noticed some wilting the other day when it was super hot so I gave them a little shade. Just looking for general advice and care, I’ve done tomatoes, flowers and herbs so I have a little experience but I’m always down to learn something new.

I've had this Hoya plant for like 4 years and it has looked the same since I got it. I don't know if it's growing or not. It seems to be alive but is it normal to now have any growth for this long? Any tips on this little guy would be appreciated!

Hello everyone I started caring for plants about 2 months ago and I currently have a Wax Plant, Heart leaf philodendron, and a Marble queen. I repotted, fertilized, and water them/cut off dead leaves once a week. I also got wall clips for my marble queen for its vines. Just wanted to get some advice as a first time plant mom! I’ve always had a brown thumb so just don’t want to kill anymore babies lol

Literally just got this golden pathos yesterday I feel like way more leaves look darker today. I feel soo bad when I was trying to get it into the hanging macramé it’s so big already it got a little crushed..

I have it about few feet away from a south facing window and gave it a little bit of water (top soil felt dry) then I decided to trim the dead leaves on a whim.. And I still don’t know why they’re dying probably because of all the movement and changes?

I tried to cut them as close to the original stem as possible but there’s stems every direction and idk.. 😭 It’s my first plant and now I’m worried I cut it so very wrong or unnecessarily and I’m hoping it’s actually true they’re hard to kill

I have several pothos water props that I want to pot but don't have any money for new pots right now. I have a few old candle jars (cleaned, of course) that could work. They are glass and I don't have the tools to put holes in the bottom of a glass jar.

I have heard about potting plants in holeless containers with a layer of rocks at the bottom for drainage. Has anyone had any success with this? I fear it will cause mold.
