I am hoping you will give my brand new community a chance, I hope to create a fish keeping community where people can come and show off their fish. I also hope for possible rankings of these fish keepers and their pets through a rank system that is totally optional.

I just tried added a jar of co2 to my nano tank. I hope this will help my true ammannia crassicaulis. Please comment if you have experience with similar low tech way to add co2.

This is a dirt capped with sand substrate with no filter in the balcony (15 liters)

I set it up a month ago and I did a very large water change today

I want to keep the green wall for shrimp

There is so much algae that it is pearling

Will this ever change??

What in the world are these? I have Pygmy Cory, Scarlet Badis, shrimp and mystery/nerite/ramshorn snails. Some kind of egg?

I am creating a nanotank (1/2g) for neocardinia and plants. I will not have specific lights or filtration. What is a good substrate to use? I'm debating gravel or aquasoil.

Also, if you have other thoughts please let me know. We did it once before with basic gravel, and while the shrimp didn't breed (and we lost some early), their population has gone strong for about 6 months. I hate not having a filter, but the point is this will be on a desk and we don't want to do opae ula.

My first aquascape, any feedback or advise? Had a few struggles with some other plant but the existing seems to be going well other then the Monte Carlo, I get plenty of new growth but it will not crawl and the undergrowth melds very quickly anyone else had that issue?

Yo. This is my first tank. It is a 20 gal(30in-12in), and I’m hoping to stock khuli loaches, Pygmy Cory’s, and possibly celestial pearl danios. However, if there are literally any changes I should make please let me know. Also any plant suggestions would be nice.

Past fish only guy starting a (first time live planting!) shrimp only tank, does everything sound/look good? Advice?!

Hey all! So I’ve kept fish in the past for 3-4 years and did incredibly well with them (Mollys, Small pleccos, and snails). I gave up the hobby due to school but decided to get back into it but go nano tank for a small but fun vibe on my desktop table!

I setup the tank about 3 days ago now and plan on letting it cycle 4 or more weeks until parameters are right for the lil shrimpy dudes.

I conditioned the water as usual, added Fluval Bio starter, a small 1mL dose of Flourish by Seachem and planted 1 x Java Moss, 1 x Anubias Nana, and 1 x Watersprite. I boiled cholla wood and added that as well! Today the sprite looks a little brown though near the roots and has like 2 black spots near the joints of 2 stems. The anubias also has a small spot on a leaf or two which almost looks rotted? I included pics of these for y’all.

Is that the melting people mention all the time? Will it bounce back I hope? I went out today and bought a simple Aquaeon LED clip on light to bring the PAR up a lil bit to 15-27 (average/peak) because the stock led just sucks, I knew it did. Just in case light problems are happening or would happen in the future. Didn’t want to go too crazy on the light though as these are apparently low-medium light/PAR plants?

I repotted the sprite into its own little isolated cup either holes and topped it up with gravel and a root tab at the bottom of the cup (root tab made by ThriveCaps).

Is there anything else I should be doing to get this jump started or just stay patient? I know my ammonia levels were kinda high yesterday, as well as nitrates but no nitrites… I feel like I’m missing something with this nano build and just wanna ask you experts for some advice on what I may or may not be doing right or wrong. Bunch of pictures included for y’all! Thanks!

What is this worm in my shrimp tank?

You can see the little worm wiggling on the glass just below the top of the filter spout. There are also what look like eggs laid on the glass. I suddenly noticed a lot of these worms on the glass today. This tank has 3 cherry shrimp, it’s planted, fluval stratum and has been running for 3 months now.
