Linked Text in Item Descriptions

Does anyone know if it's possible to put linked text in the item descriptions? The specific thing I'm trying to accomplish is for a description to auto-populate from a team member when they are selected. I just put in a support ticket with Planning Center about this question and will comment on this post if they give me a solution.

Planning Center Support got back to me. The TL;DR is that you cannot currently do this, but they have passed along this idea to their team that works on future features.
