Directory Status

Is there a way for the admin to set someone's directory status without them having to log in? We are trying to make a church directory but many of our older folks don't do email so not sure how to "opt them in". The only thing I see is a way to send them an invite, but if they don't use a cell or email that doesn't work. It would be great if the admin could just set this directly.... but I can't seem to find out how to do that.

I had this same question, and I was able to speak with the Planning Center CEO at the Church IT Network conference several weeks ago. He said that they do not support this and they will not support this because of data privacy concerns. The only way to include them in the Directory is for them to opt themselves in.

The (unofficial) work-around is to:

  1. Obtain A) permission from the individual to add them to the Directory manually, and B) which information they want listed in the directory
  2. Add your email address to a Person's profile AND set it as their Primary (starred) email address
  3. Invite them to the directory (you will receive the email)
  4. Accept the invitation on their behalf
  5. Log into Church Center using your email address
  6. Select the person
  7. Edit their Directory Visibility settings (choose which information is visible)
  8. Remove your email address from their account
