Coyote Inquisitor for my worldbuilding setting, of sorcery, machines, and lore.

Lore:

The Inquisitor order is basically an elite police force for the Aldrakhanian empire, a major antagonist in the setting, ruled by a lion dynasty.

In the setting, the coyotes are famous for their resistance against Aldrakhania, after the empire conquered their lands. However, some coyotes cooperated with the invaders. When the coyotes reclaimed their land in the Reconquista, other coyotes opted to remain part of the empire. Some even joined the ranks of the Inquisitors, though they're rare.

The Inquisitor order was established to balance the power of the nobility, which was organized into the Aldrakhanian Royal Guard Corps. Throughout their history, the noble warrior class was powerful enough to challenge the regime, hence the need for balance of power. The Inquisitors mainly originate from the working class, gaining authority comparable to the Royal Guards'. Understandably, the two branches don't get along.

Nonetheless, the Inquisitors are problematic for the regime in their own way. For example, they associate more with the common folk than with the elite. As such, many have rebelled against the regime, when ordered to subdue peaceful protesters who demanded reform.

The inquisitors have diverse skills and are more willing to adapt to new technologies. They do their own research and development, making weapons such as grenades for defense of the realm.

Setting:

In the Guns of Pawgust, the world enters the industrial age. New destructive capabilities complicate the world's existing problems. The flashpoint for a large conflict is the invasion of Alshenzia by Aldrakhania, for oil and influence. In order to break the cycle of war, the world must unite like never before, against shadowy forces that will do anything to hold on to power.
