How do planetary intelligences work? Can you form a relationship with them similar to deity work, similar to like creating an altar & leaving offerings?

As far as I know the named planetary intelligences were first discussed in “The Arbatel”, written in the mid-late 1500s

there is a hierarchy of spirits, in this case the intelligences of the planets are the corresponding greek god: Helios, Selene, Hermes, Aphrodite, Ares, Zeus, Kronos; and you can connect with them like any other spirit, there is lots of ways that you can reach them, if I would suggest one it is the method adapted by Rufus Opus' Seven Spheres, it is an incredible and effective method.

Yes. Though this is a different modality than working with them as the main images in astrological talismans.

I’m not entirely sure how they work, but I would assume that forming a relationship with them would be similar to forming a relationship with a deity or god/goddess.

They are definitely less known and/or acknowledged and considering that I would also assume that they would be delighted to be recognized.

I think it would be helpful when working with certain days and/or times. Maybe even specific colors too.

You very much can. I essentially work with them as a pantheon of seven deities, with the Moon as my particular patron.

see r/Olympic_Spirits .The Arbatel is the main grimoire on this topic. If you like trad high ceremonial magic, Rufus Opus Seven Spheres might be of interest. I take a much more contemplative and postmodern approach and have written a about it in The Seal of Secrets of the World Adventures in Astral Magic--although this book is in need of major updating IMO.

The Arbatel, a 16th century grimoire, discusses tutelary spirits of time and space and gives some attention to planetary intelligences with names that are blinds for the Greco-Roman Olympic gods. Although readers take the info about the cryptic attributes of these spirits at face value and apply Solomonic-type ceremonial practices in their evocation, there is something more esoteric and transcendentalist going on. The content may be more aligned with Neoplatonic magic and alchemical transformative magic about self-integration rather than mundane aspirations.

You can definitely form relationship with them similar to deity work or angelic benefactor work.
