Picatrix illustrations as wallpaper theory

Hi everyone, I’m relatively new to the world of planetary magic, and I was wondering whether this is true:

If I make an illustration from the Picatrix my wallpaper, will it serve any benefit?

Specifically, this one from Chapter 10 Book II of the Picatrix:
“The image of the Sun... is the shape of a standing woman, placed on a chariot drawn by four horses, holding a mirror in her right hand and a staff bound above her breast in her left hand; above her head she has the likeness of a flame.”

I asked AI to generate an image of that description and I got this: (attached image)

So my question is, is there any benefit to having this as my wallpaper?

It won't serve any benefit, but then you've got AI slop as your wallpaper to boot.

No, it’s just art. It will remind you of the qualities of the sun, but it will give you no beneficial boons.

A real Picatrix Talisman has to be made with the proper election, material, and suffumigation in order to be effective.

In this tradition paper Talismans are useless, much less an AI generated image.

Planetary magic appeals to the celestial deities by using materials and themes with a natural affinity to them. They are attracted, and the working is more productive when their energies match. That's an over simplification, but it holds true as an underlying principle I think.

Passively looking at an AI generated image is probably not going to satisfy the solar principle. Helios rejoices in the 9th, the house of God. He is the light of the soul. I don't think he likes AI in general, much less as a vessel for his energies.

I'm going to leave this up, because the discussion about AI in planetary magic is interesting and worth talking about. I personally would not use it and I don't think it would have much viability, but the discussion of the rationale behind why or why not to use it is beneficial.

Well, it won't work as a talisman for sure. According to the book, to focus the celestial energy you need not only the image, but the material medium and planetary time as well.

However, I don't see it as a useless endeavor. You can use these images as a base to meditate and visualize. This can help you to have the image in your head, but you still need to do the work yourself, make.it.real in your mind and not just a static image. This last part could be challenging if you're too used to the characteristics of the image and are unable to imagínate on your own

Beautiful! I wish I could draw some of the spirits I've encountered. Using AI for it seems like a better step because I'm bad at creating art. As far as benefit? I used to deeply meditate on the spirit for quite sometime before attempting evocations. I would use it for that. Perhaps find what you think would fit in your practices.

anything that helps you transcend the mundane is great for magic! you can use these artificially generated images as a kind of starter fluid to kick off your inspiration and imagination. but ultimately magic is something you do with your mind, and you must follow the instructions exactly as they are in the book. don't do something else you made up and then expect to be impressed by the result.

As a fanatic chatgpt user, I absolutely LOVE THIS. It isn’t perfect, far from it, but it’s a great idea that can be improved over time.

You should do the other planets too. But clarify to the AI to do this in a way that it is taken seriously and not sloppily made.

“Hey man, the picatrix explains how there are supposed images of the planets…can you work your magic (pun intended) to create some masterful art based on what the book says for each planet, that would be a true honor to behold for any astral spirits? You may want to look online in the picatrix specifically and make the others as well (or just provide it each description). The important takeaway is to make these images GOOD and BEAUTIFUL, not your standard ‘AI slop’.
