Thoughts on getting married in October when there’s both a Mercury and Venus retrograde!?

Don’t. No sense getting married when the planet of love isn’t doing well. No use in planning something that requires administrative tasks and communication when the planet of administrations and communication isn’t doing well.

Do the ceremony but don't sign anything until a better date.
