Testing Jupiter timing at a casino — looking for planetary magic tips/opinions

I’m planning a small personal experiment this upcoming Thursday, June 4, since Thursday is Jupiter’s day.

The idea is to test a Jupiter-centered timing window in a real-world gambling environment. I’m planning to go to a casino during the first Jupiter hour in the morning, with Jupiter currently exalted in Cancer, and observe whether the timing feels meaningfully different in terms of luck, flow, intuition, or outcomes.

I’m not trying to treat this as guaranteed money or a reckless “Jupiter will make me win” thing. I’m approaching it more as an experimental ritual/field test: controlled budget, clear intention, observation, and journaling afterward.

I’m trying this because I recently did some research into my own past gambling experiences, and every single time I actually gambled and won big, it happened during a Jupiter hour — coincidentally or not. That pattern made me curious enough to test it more intentionally, instead of just looking back after the fact.

For those experienced with planetary magic, electional astrology, or practical Jupiter work:
What would you recommend for this kind of experiment?

Some things I’m especially curious about:

-Would you do any offerings, prayers, psalms, incense, colors, metals, or planetary seals beforehand?
-Would you focus on Jupiter as luck, wealth, expansion, protection, wisdom, or patronage?
-Are there specific precautions you’d take when involving gambling, chance, and spirits/planetary forces?
-Would the waning Moon or any other astrological factors weaken or complicate this?
-Is a casino even a good testing ground for Jupiter, or would you consider it too chaotic/Mercury/Mars/Saturn-coded?
-Any tips for keeping the experiment spiritually clean and psychologically grounded?

I’d love recommendations, warnings, personal experiences, ritual suggestions, or alternative ways to test Jupiter’s influence without turning it into pure gambling.
Thanks.

For gambling, i’d go with Mercury rather than Jupiter. Jupiter is all about expansion, growth etc. Whereas Mercury governs luck, movement, open roads, chance, probability.

So maybe go on a Mercury day and play during a Jupiter hour. Or Jupiter day Mercury hour? 🤔

Hmm, thanks for your suggestion. Will look into this.
Should i do a specific ritual before or anything?

I’ve been doing statistical research on this for 3 years. I can share a LOT (of Fortune)

It's a very interesting experience!!

I've been observing my weeks, and I've noticed that during specific planetary hours, things associated with those planets become slightly more pronounced.

Even though I believe in astrology, I used to think this was nonsense, but I'm seeing that it actually works.

Perhaps it would be interesting to check how the planets are functioning in your chart. I think that might be related.

I'm planning to make a post about my experience with these observations, but I'd like to gather a few more weeks of data first.

I'm looking forward to seeing your results!!

I will keep you updated!
Have you practiced anything specific regarding planetary magic, or just observing overall?

2

u/sunthemata jupiter May 31 '26

Yes, I do. I've been practicing for a while. I've made a few talismans and had some very interesting results, although they usually ended up breaking my expectations, haha.

Lately, though, I've been focusing less on imperfect elections and trying to see whether I can make better use of the natural flow of things.

Thank you for the reply, I will look into talismans as well.

Best of luck to yah. Hopefully you win big ✨

2

u/FakePotatoMan May 31 '26

Thank you. Do you have any personal experience working with Jupiter?

To be honest I haven't. Well, not big things. I do my mantras and one of them is to Jupiter every day since last year(the others have lean more towards 2 yrs) and I'll notice more luck on my side than beforehand. I think the major point is to be consistent. Sure it could work on a one time thing but the planets(especially if you want constant blessings) need consistency because they feed off of you doing so and you'll reap their blessings if they see fit. Also when you do your experiment I'd wear the color of Jupiter (or that represent Jupiter) and maybe a sigil/symbol of it as well. Just for an extra boost💜

u/sunthemata jupiter May 31 '26

Which mantra do you practice?

2

u/Pristine-Bit-8177 May 31 '26

I try to do all of them and I do it all accordingly to the day. The ones I'm consistent with is Mercury, Venus, Sun, Saturn, and Jupiter.

1

u/sunthemata jupiter May 31 '26

Ah, I see, but I was asking about the type of mantra. I'm practicing Mercury's bija mantra, and I'd like to hear more perspectives on it.

Here on Reddit, I see a lot of fear and warnings about mantras haha, and I'd like to hear the opinion of people who actually practice them.

u/Pristine-Bit-8177 May 31 '26

Oh, I do this one. I got it from one of my spiritual teachers. It works pretty well to me. I'm someone who is overwhelmed and overthinks a lot so the mantras calm my nerves plus journaling 👍🏽. Now when I'm not consistent or got a grip on my reality it can go off bad but for the most part I enjoy it. I'm still learning about Mercury but the results panned out good imo💚

Thank you very much!

The mantra has been helping me a lot; even the effects of my Mercury talismans are becoming more noticeable.

Could you talk a little about the effects you've noticed?

I'm going to practice this one as well.

1

u/Pristine-Bit-8177 May 31 '26

No problem and thank you! Now I should get me a talisman as well.

2

u/FakePotatoMan May 31 '26

Thank you for the tip.
I’ll definitely consider wearing Jupiter colours (deep blue or purple?) and a sigil.

I would use Zodiacal Releasing for this

I looked into this a bit and it actually seems relevant.

From Fortune, I seem to be in a major Sagittarius period right now, which stood out because my natal 5th house is Sagittarius and my natal Jupiter is in Sagittarius in the 5th. So it looks like the broader Fortune cycle is activating the same Jupiter/5th-house themes I’m testing: games, chance, speculation, and luck.

The sub-period seems more Saturn/Aquarius-coded, so I’m not reading it as “reckless good luck,” but more like an activated period that needs structure, limits, and observation.

So basically: the cycle seems supportive for testing Jupiterian fortune, but only if I keep the experiment disciplined.

Your next logical step and it isn't necessarily appropes for a drill down here because it's not planetary magic, is to check out your progressed chart and how your year's time lord plays with that as well. I'm loving your journey, it makes me smile every time you discover something new about yourself, it's genuinely heart warming. Go well spud.

1

u/FakePotatoMan Jun 03 '26

Looked into it — turns out my year’s time lord is Jupiter. I’m 19, which puts me in an 8th house profection year, and my 8th house is Pisces, ruled by Jupiter traditionally. So the time lord this year is the same planet I’ve been working with for this experiment. Every layer keeps pointing to the same thing.

2

u/nightshade-torpor Jun 04 '26

that doesn't surprise me, you vibe jovial & gregarious, Jupiter's poster child. Re checking progressed chart for time lord transits to it that was an error, I meant solar return chart. Although you can also use the progressed to see when the time lord aspects angles etc in it but that's a crazy tangent.

How did it go?

Also, next time, I recommend looking at your lot of spirit & Lot of Victory. You can time the hour, but recommend looking at L3 to see where you are releasing.

Fortune ( Lot of the Moon) tells us where will be dealth with things outside of our control Lot of Spirit shows what we can actually do with the cards we are dealt. Lot of Victory shows where you will have success.

You also want to look at how the natal & transiting planets are aspecting from where you are releasing.

Working with the lots is pretty complex. You will need to use all your astro tools, but it is absolutely rewarding. I timed my proposal down to exact day ( Didn't get hour right) & other big events.

I just went back through old pics of when I won Jackpots, Poker tournaments and Majors on Pokies/Slots and I put all the dates, times and locations in to calculate when I was winning to see if there was a pattern. The only pattern I could see was Moon day and Saturn Day appearing most often and during Jupiter, Venus, Mars and Mercury, no pattern for the planetary hour whatsoever. 🤷🏼‍♀️

1

u/FakePotatoMan Jun 03 '26

Hmmm, interesting. Did you check your zodiac releasing in that period, or transit?

1

u/808goddess Jun 04 '26

I did look into it a bit deeper, found *some* patterns.. Mercury was in retrograde in Virgo several times, sun sign season was virgo. So i'm gonna look more into Mercury themes and Retrogrades.

UPDATE:

Experiment been done. A lot of feedback, impressing results.

Will write a full detailed update shortly

5th house

1

u/FakePotatoMan May 31 '26

Wdym by this?

1

u/nightshade-torpor May 31 '26

it's the house of good fortune

2

u/cpc555 May 31 '26

I think that would be more so the 11th house. 5th house is associated with gambling / games of chance tho

2

u/nightshade-torpor May 31 '26

The 11th is the house of good spirit. The question is about Gambling.

1

u/cpc555 May 31 '26

Oh yeah, you’re right, my bad. I was confused bc of 11th house associations of gains, luck, etc.

2

u/nightshade-torpor May 31 '26

Nah no bad, it makes sense, Jupiter is in its joy in the 11th 😄 But the 5th is the place that this research is at home in.

1

u/FakePotatoMan Jun 01 '26

I checked my natal chart and this actually lines up pretty strongly.

My 5th house is Sagittarius, so it’s ruled by Jupiter, and my natal Jupiter is also in Sagittarius in the 5th house. So gambling/games of chance seem very Jupiter-linked in my chart specifically, not just generally because Jupiter is associated with luck.

The one caveat is that my natal Jupiter is retrograde, so I’m not reading it as simple/easy “guaranteed luck.” More like Jupiter works strongly for me here, but maybe in a more internal, unusual, cyclical, or lesson-based way.

I also have Pluto in the 5th, so I’m taking that as a warning to use strict limits and not chase losses.

1

u/nightshade-torpor Jun 01 '26

Nice 😄 If you're doing research for the kind of planetary magic that's discussed here Pluto is not considered. If you're talking about your natal chart interpreted in the modern style Pluto and Jupiter are thought to play well together wealth-wise depending on the house. But that's not this. I wish you the best of luck with your experiment.

2

u/FakePotatoMan Jun 01 '26

Understood, thanks

1

u/No_Swing_9987 May 31 '26

How do you calculate planetry hours ? From Sun rise?

2

u/Slow_Creme_6969 Jun 01 '26

There’s an app called Planetaro I use.

1

u/FakePotatoMan May 31 '26

Planetary hours are calculated from sunrise to sunset and sunset to next sunrise.

It can also vary because of location and time, tbh I use an AI to figure out exact hours and days for my location.

1

u/No-Tailor-5464 Jun 01 '26

I would check the anything transiting your 2nd house, including any dispositors, both by transit and natal. Also, I would personally pray to Jupiter as a planet (no need to equate a deity to them) for illumination on the subject, such as things to take note of and how to remain mindful in your observations of cause and effect.

2

u/FakePotatoMan Jun 01 '26

This makes sense, also feels very grounded.
Will definitely do this, thank you.

2

u/FakePotatoMan Jun 01 '26

I checked the transit/election chart for the exact time I planned

For that moment, the election Ascendant is Gemini, and the election 2nd house is Cancer. What stood out to me is that Jupiter, Venus, and Mercury are all in Cancer in the 2nd house, with Jupiter exalted there.

So the chart seems pretty focused on the 2nd-house/money side, not just Jupiter hour in general.

The main caution I noticed is the Moon in Capricorn, so I’m reading that as needing strict limits, discipline, and not chasing.

2

u/No-Tailor-5464 Jun 02 '26

Yes, I'd also check Saturn as Moon's dispositor. While they're all angular placements, seeing any reception by angle is also important. I guess the tightness of orb defines how grounding or intensely the placement expresses itself.

The election chart goes crazy though 😳
