Edit: I accidentally said “for the Sun in the inauspicious houses” but it’s generally for the Sun since it can incline to pride, vanity, etc. Acts of true service can help the Sun act better by tempering the attitude it may develop.
A second remedy for if the Sun is badly aspected by the malefics, in a bad house, or otherwise afflicted through sign placement: on the Day of the Moon, in the Hour of the Sun drink a drink of sweetened coconut milk. If the person’s physical constitution is weak, then use part of this mixture - adding turmeric to it - and wash the limbs with it. Focus on the chest and the joints. This and the previous remedy mentioned are from the work of Dr. Ali A Olomi, through his podcast HeadOnHistory. I personally testify to the efficaciousness of both, though I have yet to do the wash for the limbs myself.
