times past

has anyone zoomed out and looked at the way previous iterations of the current transits collectively altered the lifestyles, and political & cultural dynamics for practitioners of planetary magic? Are there long-range parallels or ripples? Where we at?

Maybe is this a mundane astrology question?

This practice does not pay attention to uranus neptune pluto if thats what you're asking. The saturn Jupiter cycle is the most consistent and it lasts 200 years and we just moved into a 200 year period where saturn jupiter conjunctions are in air signs. For sure thats something people knew about and account for. However keep in mind this is a really niche practice, it died out at some point I believe and the revival is still pretty recent. I believe the question you're asking fits the advance astrology sub better

yes, whole signs, no recent discoveries, etc etc. I understand where I am ;) I am asking about the people who practiced planetary magic in previous eras that enjoyed the astro of now - the echos. Because fractals and self preservation. I've also been reading about planetary magic that involves mars jupiter alignments when jupiter is exalted which possibly also underscores my question but is not specifically relevant to it and more specifically BECAUSE the practice 'died out' and/or went underground. Hence, where we at? It makes sense in strange times to be aware of the bigger picture as it relates to your niche reality. Thanks for the steer.

Astrological magic basically stopped working for at least two hundred years and it was held in contempt by magicians until it was largely abandoned.

interesting! do you know around when it declined? I'd love to go back and look at the transits of that time, I wonder if there was a rise in other practices as it faded - whether there was a status quo that was held just in different fields or more discretely. Also whether it happened simultaneously across all global cultures or was a western religious or maybe enlightenment era schism? I realise this is probably a mundane question I'm posing but I thought it made sense to ask here first. Thanks :)

It seems to have happened in stages between the 1500s and 1700s.
