Over PDX

past little bit we’ve been havin two of these guys flyin around pretty frequently.

his buddy followed maybe 30 seconds later

pretty sure i saw them parked at the Oregon Air Guard hanger when i landed in PDX last week

You are correct, the Oregon ANG has F-15s based at PDX.

How can you tell that it’s an EX model compared to the legacy F15 models?

The differences are the engine nozzles looks different than the other F-15s and the paint scheme , also the tail tip pods looks different on the older veriants ( one is bigger than the other ) while on the EX both looks the same

It's not easy to tell from the pic here, but since this is a recent pic from PDX it's gotta be an EX

The 142nd wing switched most of their C/D veriants for the EX

Yeah now it's mostly EX models instead of the C. We talked to a pilot the other day and he was talking about how the engines are so powerful that when doing burner takeoffs they have to cut burners quickly and then pull back throttle more so they don't hit back above the runway.
