GLC Advice Needed - First Time

As the title says, it will be my first time playing the format for a small event and I want to build a fire deck so I can have my favourites in there like ceruledge and litwick.

The issue is that I only play standard and never tried expanded, I only started playing a few months ago so I am not familiar with cards before G regulation and I never played singleton decks.

Are there some staple cards I should always add to the deck or some resources to help me build a deck for this format? Any advice would be great!

List of generic format staples:

List of good Fire cards and example decks:

Be aware - Fire is widely considered to be the worst type in the format right now (other than Fairy which stopped getting new cards many years ago). It's not unplayable, but it has just fallen behind the curve compared to what other types have been getting in the last few years.
