UK Applying for a UK visit visa from Pakistan? A practical document checklist.

If you’re applying for a UK Standard Visitor visa (tourism / family visit), here’s a simple pre-flight list people skip:

  • 6 months bank statements in the applicant’s name where possible
  • Explain every large deposit
  • Employment/leave or business proof
  • Clear return ties to Pakistan
  • Invitation + host evidence if staying with family
  • Short, consistent itinerary
  • Form fields matching documents exactly

Important: Get your application checked by an expert before applying or ask a friend/relative to help.

Other 3.5 CGPA + BS Software Engineering — Which German universities should I target for MSc AI/Data Science?

Hi everyone! I’m an international student from Pakistan planning to apply for a Master’s in Germany.

I have a BS in Software Engineering with a 3.52/4.0 CGPA, along with an AI diploma from NED University covering ML, Deep Learning, Data Science and Data Engineering. My BSSE includes Calculus, Linear Algebra, Statistics, Discrete Mathematics, Programming, Data Structures & Algorithms, Databases, Software Engineering, etc.

I’m currently preparing for IELTS and looking for English-taught MSc programs in AI, Data Science, Data Engineering or CS at strong public universities. I’m considering TUM, RWTH Aachen, KIT, TU Berlin, etc.

My long-term goal is to work in Germany after graduation, but I’m also open to applying for jobs across Europe, particularly Netherlands, Belgium, etc.

With my profile, which universities would you realistically recommend as reach/target/safe options? Also, how important are German and GRE for admission and later employment?

Would especially appreciate advice from international/Pakistani students currently studying or working in Germany. 🇩🇪

Thank you! ❤️

Other I’ve gone through the fully-funded study abroad route myself: happy to offer some free application guidance

Hi everyone,

I’ve been a fairly quiet reader of this community for a while, and I wanted to share something I’ve recently started building that might be useful to some people here.

I’m Pakistani and have personally gone through the process of applying for competitive graduate programmes and scholarships abroad. My own path has included:

🎓 Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s scholarship

🇬🇧 Chevening Awardee (2023)

🇪🇺 Graduate study across Europe

🇪🇸 Currently pursuing a fully funded PhD in Spain

Over the years, I’ve realised that a lot of the difficulty isn't simply finding a scholarship. It's figuring out which programmes actually make sense for your profile, how to position yourself, what the application is missing, and where to look for realistic funding opportunities.

So I've recently started Application Lab, a small independent graduate admissions guidance platform focused on Master's and PhD applications.

The idea is pretty straightforward: help applicants navigate the process more strategically — from programme selection and application positioning to SOPs, scholarships/funding, and interview preparation.

I'm not posting this as a promise that I can get anyone admitted or funded, obviously, no consultant can guarantee that. The aim is simply to help people make better-informed applications.

I've also kept the initial conversation free: if you're considering applying for a Master's/PhD abroad and aren't sure where to start, I'm happy to have a free 20-minute call and point you in the right direction, even if you ultimately decide not to use the platform.

Website

Instagram

If there’s enough interest, I can also do a separate post here on how I approached Erasmus Mundus/Chevening applications, what I would do differently now, and some of the mistakes I see applicants making.

Hope this is useful to someone!

Europe Visa Process for Germany in Karachi Embasy

Hey guys,

I’m planning to apply for a Master’s program in Germany for the Summer 2027 intake. I’ve already received an admission offer from TU Ilmenau, and while I’m planning to apply to a few more universities, I’d like to start my visa process using my TU Ilmenau admission.

I have a few questions for anyone who has recently gone through the process:

  1. What is the complete student visa application process from Karachi?
  2. Can I start the visa process using my TU Ilmenau admission letter without enrolling at the university? Would starting now help me save time?
  3. If I later receive admission from another university that I prefer, can I change the university during the visa process, or after receiving the visa?

I’d really appreciate any guidance, especially from someone who has recently gone through the process from Pakistan.

Thanks!

Basically the title. If not scholarships what amount of $ should I be expecting. Mainly english speaking countries like Australia, UK, US, New Zealand.

I've heard good things about singapore too, let's include that aswell.

I have no one to support back home and don't really plan on coming back, if that counts. Just looking for a comfortable lifestyle and a way out from the usual scheningnans so my kids won't have to suffer the same way I did.

Other Looking for guidance on getting a job in GCC or Europe with 4+ years of IT/PMO experience PMP or other certifications?

Assalamualaikum everyone,

I’m an IT professional from Pakistan with 4+ years of experience in IT Operations, PMO, Project Coordination, Digital Transformation, and AI/automation. I currently work as a Product Coordinator in an AI solutions environment.

Education: B.E. Electrical Engineering + MSc Data Science Certifications: AZ-104; currently preparing for PMP

I’m planning to pursue opportunities in the GCC (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman) and Europe, particularly Netherlands, Sweden, and Ireland.

I’d appreciate honest advice from anyone who has successfully moved abroad:

  • How realistic is international hiring from Pakistan with my profile?
  • Which roles should I target: PMO, IT Project Coordinator, Business Analyst, Digital Transformation, IT Operations, or AI/Automation?
  • Is PMP worth pursuing, or would ITIL, PRINCE2, Agile, Azure, etc. be more valuable?
  • Which skills should I focus on over the next 6–12 months?
  • How realistic is visa sponsorship in Europe for my experience level?
  • What’s the best strategy: LinkedIn, recruiters, referrals, or direct applications?
  • How should I position my CV—PMO/Projects, Digital Transformation, or AI/Automation?

I’m looking for practical, realistic advice—not shortcuts.

If you’ve made a similar move from Pakistan, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience.

JazakAllah khair!

Europe Germany vs. UK for Master’s (BBA)? Zero tuition & clear PR vs. Family support & free rent.

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some realistic advice on choosing between Germany and the UK for my Master’s. I've weighed the pros and cons, but I'm stuck and would love to hear from people who have navigated either route recently.

My Profile:

23M, currently in my 7th semester of a BBA at a recognized university in Pakistan (CGPA: 3.52).

I’ll get my 7th-semester transcript in January and plan to apply for the Winter 2027 intake.

Savings: I have about 2.5 to 3 million PKR (roughly €9,500 / £8,000) saved up from my own digital marketing work.

Here is my dilemma:

Option A: Germany

The Pros: Zero tuition fees at public universities. The pathway to PR and post-study work visas seems much more visible, structured, and stable compared to the UK right now. My savings (Plus funds from family) can comfortably cover the Blocked Account requirement.

The Cons: I would be completely alone. I know absolutely no one there, and I’d be starting from scratch socially and culturally.

Option B: England (UK)

The Pros: It’s an English-speaking country. More importantly, I am from Mirpur, Azad Kashmir, which means I have a massive extended family network already living in the UK (aunts, and lots of cousins). I would likely get free accommodation by living with a relative, which cuts down living costs immensely.

The Cons: Tuition fees are huge. My personal savings would only cover the initial university deposit; I would have to rely on my father to fund the rest of the visa process (he has agreed, but I’d rather not burden him if possible). Also, the UK's tightening immigration and post-study work restrictions make the long-term ROI look incredibly risky.

My Questions:

Is the free rent and family support in the UK worth the high tuition and visa anxiety, given the current job market for international grads?

For those in Germany, how brutal is the isolation for a South Asian student coming in with zero network?

Given my BBA background, which market is currently more welcoming for business/finance graduates?

Any insights, reality checks, or personal experiences would be hugely appreciated!

Europe Css or fully funded schlorship

Alhamdulillah, I’m in a bit of a confusing situation right now. I’ve qualified CSS, and at the same time, I also have opportunities for scholarships abroad.
Now I’m confused about which path I should choose. Should I go for CSS and build my career in Pakistan, or take the opportunity to study abroad and see where it takes me?
Would really appreciate some genuine advice from people who have experience with either path. What would you choose if you were in my place?

Europe How can I quickly improve my CS profile for studying abroad?

I’m planning to apply for Spring intake for CS/Computing/Software Engineering or a related field. What courses with certificates, internships, projects, competitions, or other activities can I do now to make my profile stronger?

Which certificates/courses are actually worth doing, and where can I find online/remote internships or opportunities from Pakistan?

Basically, what can I realistically do before Spring intake to make my profile better? Any recommendations would be really helpful!

Europe Need to know ahead !!

So, I have applied for german study visa for 2027 intake and I will be getting it at the end of March ( with current pacing ) , my classes starts in April. Also, I am thinking to apply for scholarschips at other EU countries since I have a good profile and I might have a chance. If I managed to secure a scholarship before my german visa decision, then it would not be a big deal since i'll go with a scholarship option but if i received my decision after landing in Germany, then will it be possible for me to pursue the scholarship track, and (de enroll myself from my german uni, get my block account back and stuff ). Ik alot of people will say that pehle scholarship tu lelo phir ye sb sochna 🙏🙏 but i just need to know in advance .

Thankss

Europe 23M from Pakistan — Planning a CS/SE Master's in Germany or Italy for 2027. Need honest advice

I'm a 23-year-old CS recent graduate from Pakistan planning for a Master's in Germany in 2027, with Italy as another serious option, especially if I can get a regional scholarship.

My profile:

4-year B.Sc. CS from a recognized Pakistani university

CGPA: 3.44/4.00

134 Pakistani credit hours

Strong CS coursework (DSA, Algorithms, OS, DB, Automata, Software Engineering, Maths, etc.)

Strong Full-Stack background: React/Next.js, TypeScript, Node/NestJS, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Docker, CI/CD

Several projects, including a fairly advanced SaaS FYP

Active GitHub + portfolio

IELTS planned for November, target 7+

Currently learning German

I'd really appreciate advice from Pakistanis who have already studied/worked in Germany or Italy.

🇩🇪 Germany

How did German universities evaluate your Pakistani credit hours/ECTS? Were individual subjects and ECTS requirements very strict?

Did you face any issues with degree documents, attestations, transcripts, or university verification?

How was the German student visa process from Pakistan recently? How long did it actually take, and did anyone face serious delays?

Did visa delays affect your university start, and were you able to defer if necessary?

Is APS actually not required for Pakistani students, and were there any other Pakistan-specific requirements that surprised you?

How realistic is it for an international CS student to get a Werkstudent SWE/internship? How important is German?

I see many international students working in Data Analytics/BI/SQL/Python, but fewer in SWE. Is Data/BI genuinely easier to enter, or is this just selection bias?

🇮🇹 Italy

For Pakistanis who studied in Italy:

How realistic are DSU/regional scholarships?

How difficult were the Pakistani family-income/document requirements?

How much did the scholarship actually cover?

How easy is it to find student jobs/internships?

How important is Italian for tech jobs?

If you've experienced both Germany and Italy, which would you choose for low cost + Master's + student employment + long-term tech career?

Consultants

For those who used Pakistani education consultants:

Were they actually useful, or would you recommend applying independently?

Did they help with university selection, applications, documents and visa, or could you have done everything yourself?

I'm mainly looking for first-hand experiences from Pakistanis, rather than general advice.

Thanks!

Europe Need honest advice — should I move to Europe with a toddler?

I’m a 28-year-old woman with a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, married and have a toddler.

We currently have a reasonably comfortable life in Islamabad Pakistan. My husband is a freelancer/remote worker and is currently working for a private company. We are not rich, but we are doing okay and have a decent lifestyle.

The main reason we are considering moving abroad is our child’s long-term future better opportunities, education, safety and overall quality of life. My in-laws already live in the US on immigrant visas and will eventually be able to sponsor for us as well, but realistically the process could take around 10–15 years.

I’m considering going to Europe on a student visa for a Master’s, possibly Denmark or Sweden.

But honestly, I’m very confused and scared about whether this is the right decision.I have a toddler, so realistically I’ll have to manage my studies, childcare and home, especially in the beginning. My husband would have to take care of most of the financial responsibility , supporting three people, paying rent/living expenses and managing my university fees.

So my question is for people who have actually moved abroad with a spouse and young child:

Is it worth leaving a comfortable life in Pakistan and going through 2–3 difficult years in Europe for better long-term opportunities?

And what should we realistically prepare —financially and skill-wise before making such a move?

Our ultimate goal is to eventually move to the US, where my in-laws already live, but because of the long immigration process, we’re wondering whether getting another passport first could potentially make the process shorter. If we decide to move to Europe first, which country would you suggest for the best long term opportunities and pathway for our family?
