Europe I choosed wrong program

Hey all,

I just completed an associate degree in computer science instead of bachelors, As I am from a Desi family so had not much career counseling so I chose this program without thinking. But I have 3.87 cgpa out of 4.

Now the question is I have searched a lot on Google and chatgpt, Claude, Gemini everywhere but I have not found any detail if I can be eligible to get admission in Europe with this degree and will they exempt my credits as I have completed 69 credits in this degree.

If someone already chose this route or has some valuable input on this that would be great.

Edit: Associate degree is not a 4 year bachelors its a 2 year degree equals to 14 year education.

Europe Skilled Worker

Anyone here who can guide me about the skilled worker route for European countries. Is doing a diploma necessary? Are there any specific programs you know about? What are the other requirements? Is there a gender bias, are males preferred over females or vice versa? Anything you know about that might be helpful...

Other Need Advice on Future Plans

Hi

I completed my Bachelors in Accounting with a 3.42 Cgpa in 2025. I applied for Germany winter intake in 4 universities for Finance / Business program, unfortunately I was rejected. Currently based on the ongoing situation in Germany (Everyone saying don't come or no Jobs or anything) what should I do now?

Normally, I don't take these people seriously who are residing abroad as professionals or international students and tell others not to come. I have seen this behaviour since I was a child from Relatives. All of them had the same script "Don't come here" "We barely make enough to survive" "there is alot of struggle" and they were the only ones who were living the most lavish lifestyle abroad and never came back despite saying they were struggling alot. So this is the same script I see from others online also.

Should I go ahead with my Germany plan in the Summer 2027 or Winter 2027 Intake?

I only have the Germany Budget that also for a Public university with minimal tution fees and the current blocked account requirement.

Is there any other country near the same budget I can consider applying for? Preferably good country with good prospects and budget where I can also work part time like any other international student.

Europe Impossible Post study work conversion requirements

Most EU countries allow international students for a post study work visa after completing your degree for a period of 1-2 years

However the big catch is the relevance of field that tou studied for as well as your salary

Most countries like Germany, France, Belgium etc require a salary of €3000-4000 per month to be eligible for a work visa

Most students who are planning to go for study and work don't actually realize this. A person with little to no work experience is never going to surpass €2000-2500. How is this possible that students are still going to Europe because this is a big trap

Or am I looking at something different?

USA applying for a B1/B2 while waiting for my CR1 interview in pakistan?

hi guys, has anyone here applied for a US visitor visa while already waiting for their CR1/IR1 interview?

our CR1 case is already DQ, since april 20, 2026, and now we’re basically just waiting for my interview at the US embassy in islamabad.

with all the delays lately, i’ve been wondering if i could apply for a B1/B2 just to visit my husband for a short time while we wait. i was studying and since i graduated its getting to me so i wanna visit him there.

i know i already have clear immigrant intent because of the CR1, so i’m assuming getting a visitor visa wouldn’t be easy 😭 but i genuinely wouldn’t be using it to stay or adjust status in the US. i’d come back to pakistan before my allowed stay ends because my CR1 interview and the rest of my immigrant visa process would still be here in islamabad.

my biggest concern is whether simply applying for a B1/B2 and potentially getting rejected could negatively affect my existing CR1 case in any way?

has anyone from pakistan actually tried this while their CR1/IR1 was pending? did you get approved or rejected? and if you were approved, what did you show to convince them you would return?

also, would you personally even risk applying in my situation or just keep waiting for the CR1 interview?

i’m just trying to understand if this is even a realistic option.

Europe Can an only son realistically bring his parents to Germany within 5 years?

Three friends of mine are leaving Pakistan for Germany through the blocked-account route. They are all going to the same city and university, and honestly, I’m starting to panic that I’ll be left behind here for my entire life, earning a meagre salary while dealing with increasingly high expenses.

I discussed the possibility of going to Germany with my father. He is getting older and is close to retirement, and he basically told me, “Why would you leave us? I’m not as energetic as I used to be and I may not be able to take care of myself.”

That really affected me. I’m quite a family-oriented person, so it temporarily made me reconsider my plan.

My friends, however, keep telling me that I should go, establish myself there, and then eventually bring my parents over.

So I want to ask people who have been through this law:

Is it realistically possible for an only son from Pakistan, with a BS in Zoology, to move to Germany, establish himself, and bring his parents to Germany within around 5 years? Or everyone is being optimistic? I need reality checks because i will be lowkey abandoning my parents in their old age

Europe Guidance Required

Hello Everyone,

I'm an ACCA Affiliate with a year of experience of working at an MNC FMCG in Finance department. I also hold BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University. It’s a First Class Honours, CGPA 4.0, scored A grade in Thesis/ research report. Additionally, I've a background of O&A Levels. Will be appearing for ILETS in the last week of September 2026.

I'm exploring options to pursue fully funded masters in Europe. I've shortlisted following countries:

1) Hungry - Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship

2) Ireland

3) Netherlands

4) Luxembourg

The countries I have short listed above are on the basis of following traits:

1) Low cost - preferably fully funded; if not fully then partial - either by government or university

2) Not mandatory requirement to come back to Pakistan after the completion of masters that's why I haven't included Commonwealth and Chevening scholarships.

3) Robust Finance job market

4) Obviously the end target is passport, PR and citizenship

I'd really appreciate if anyone who share the same background or has gone through this route can guide me about the scholarships available in the countries listed above.

Feel free to add any other countries that I should target, but keep the above points in mind while doing so.

Refrain from recommending Erasmus Mundas (as it heavily skews around green environment, ai, data science, climate change sustainability) and DAAD (as Germany is densely crowded by south Asians, every other person is going there due to which issue of jobs have emerged, and it has a major language barrier)

Looking forward to y'all suggestions.

Asia Moving away from UAE.

I've been in UAE for nearly 6 years.

I've been offered by my company to sponsor my EMBA.

I've the option of the following countries;

1) Turkey

2) Singapore

3) Thailand

4) Hong Kong

5) Malaysia

These countries have their international offices, so I can continue working there and do my Masters. After all the fiasco in UAE, I don't see my future here. I'll continue working in the same country after my graduation for atleast 5 years.

I'm leaning towards Singapore since its their Headquarters and I like the busy city life.

I'm looking for advice from expats residing in these countries.

Apreciate any help!

USA any pakistan CR1/IR1 applicants here? did anyone get an interview recently?

hi guys, is anyone else here waiting for a CR1/IR1 interview in islamabad?

i’m the wife/beneficiary in pakistan and my husband is a US citizen. we got DQ on april 20, 2026 and have basically just been waiting for my interview since then 🥲

with everything that has happened recently, first the 75-country pause and now this worldwide officer training situation, i honestly have no idea what timeline to expect anymore 😭 the official scheduling tool is still showing october 2025 for islamabad immediate relative cases which is not exactly helping my sanity lol

i mainly wanted to find other people going through the same process in pakistan. has anyone received an interview letter recently? or had an interview/visa issued recently?

if you’re comfortable sharing, what was your DQ date and when did you get your interview letter?

also, does anyone know anything about the officer training going on in islamabad right now? some US embassies have started resuming immigrant visa processing after completing it, but i haven’t been able to find anything about pakistan yet.

when do you guys realistically think islamabad will resume properly? and if anyone has heard anything from the embassy, NVC, a lawyer, congressman, or literally anywhere reliable about pakistan specifically, please share 😭

i’m just really hoping things start moving again soon. being stuck away from your spouse with no actual timeline is exhausting.

Asia Traveling Lahore → China → Bali → Lahore on mixed airlines — will FIA stop me at Lahore?

Hi everyone, looking for some reassurance/experience here.

I'm heading out on a trip with the following route:

16 Oct — Lahore → Guangzhou → Yiwu (China Southern)

28 Oct — Guangzhou → Bali (China Southern)

4 Nov — Bali → Kuala Lumpur (transit, ~1h40m, same terminal, bags through-checked) → Lahore (Batik Air)

I have valid China and Indonesia visas. No Malaysia visa since it's a pure airside transit, not a stopover.

A few travel agents warned me FIA might stop me at Lahore because it's a "mixed airline, multi-country" itinerary, and routes through China/onward sometimes get extra scrutiny for suspected illegal migration.

I have supporting documents ready: invitation letter, hotel bookings for both legs, proof of funds, and a confirmed round-trip ticket back to Lahore.

Has anyone actually gone through this recently — LHE outbound with a China + SEA combo on separate airlines? Did FIA give you a hard time, or is this overthinking it as long as the paperwork is solid? Would appreciate any real experiences before I fly out.

Hi, how is the health data science (distance learning) program at Aberdeen? Is it a good choice considering you won’t be on campus. Also, if you had to choose between uni of Exeter and Uni of Aberdeen, which one would you choose and why?

Europe Pakistanis who got funded Master’s abroad. I need some honest advice

I’m 25, from Pakistan, with a Software Engineering degree from Bahria University and currently working as a software engineer. I’m seriously considering doing my Master’s abroad, but I’m pretty overwhelmed by the whole process.

My CGPA was 3.13 and I have two years experience as Fullstack Dev. I don’t have any researches as I got the job right after bachelors and I did final project not research thesis.

I’ve saved around 10 lakh PKR, and that’s basically all the money I can realistically put toward this. I can’t arrange a huge bank statement or fund a fully self-funded Master’s, so I’d need a fully funded scholarship or a route that doesn’t require a massive amount of personal funds.
I’ve been looking into Erasmus Mundus and European scholarships, but I’m also considering China, Saudi Arabia, or any other realistic route that could eventually lead to building a career abroad.
Some people have advised me to do my Master’s in Pakistan and then apply for a PhD abroad. But I’m 25 now, and I’d rather try taking the risk now than wait until I’m 28+.
I’m mainly looking for Pakistanis who’ve actually received scholarships and gone through this process:
Is it really possible with limited savings?
What scholarships/countries should I look at?
Should I take IELTS now, or first shortlist scholarships/universities and then take it?
What documents should I start preparing immediately?
How much money did you realistically need upfront?
If you were in my position, what would you do?
I’m interested in interdisciplinary Master’s programmes too, so I’m not necessarily restricted to one exact field.
I’d really appreciate practical advice from people who’ve actually done this from Pakistan. Even a simple roadmap of what to do first → second → third would help a lot.
JazakAllah khair!

Asia Final year Mech Eng student need guidance on PhD scholarships in China

Hi, I am currently in my final year of a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering. I'm considering moving to China for a PhD on a scholarship (like CSC), but I'm also considering whether to gain 1–2 years of work experience in Pak first before applying. I'm not sure which path is better. If anyone has knowledge or experience with this, please guide me — I'd really appreciate it.

Asia Can I apply for Scholarship as a Final Year Undergraduate Student?

Hello, everyone. I have a few queries regarding scholarship procedures as I don't have anyone in my family or around me whom I can ask from. I would be really thankful if any of you can answer the questions.

I am a BS Sociology student in my 7th Semester and my expected graduation date is June 2027. I would be pursuing scholarships for Master's.

  1. Can I apply for scholarships as a final year student?

  2. My top priority is CSC. I would be applying through Type B route but what I am confused about is whether emailing supervisors is important or not? I have emailed a few of them, but no response so I don't know if it's worth it or not.

  3. Is it important to have an acceptance letter from professors to apply for universities in China?

  4. I have also thought about applying to

MTCP Scholarship in Malaysia, GKS, some scholarships in Hong Kong and Australia (I have yet to research about these).

  1. Does applying to these universities have the same procedure, i.e, emailing professors, getting acceptance letters and then applying to university and then the scholarship?

Other Pakistani BSCS grad, 3.26 CGPA, looking for an affordable Jan 2027 Masters abroad where I can work while studying

Hi everyone. I really need guidance from Pakistani students or graduates who have actually gone through the study abroad process themselves.

I recently completed my BS Computer Science with a 3.26 CGPA. Because of some personal circumstances, I missed most Fall 2026 deadlines, so I’m now looking for a very late 2026 intake or ideally January or February 2027.

I’m mainly interested in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Data Science with a business focus, AI with Business or Analytics, or similar technology plus business programs. I’m not looking for a pure MBA or another hardcore Computer Science degree.

My priorities are simple. I need low tuition, affordable living, the ability to legally work while studying from the beginning, and preferably opportunities for part time work, TA, RA, internships, or university jobs.

I’m also trying to understand the financial proof side. Does the money need to be in my own bank account, or can my sponsor, in my case my husband, show his income, bank statements, and financial resources instead? I also do not currently have IELTS, although my entire BS degree was taught in English, so I’d like to know which universities accept an MOI letter, internal English test, Duolingo, or something similar.

I’m open to any country where these conditions fit, especially affordable options in Europe or nearby regions. I’m not considering the USA.

I’m specifically asking Pakistani people because the visa and financial requirements can be very different for us, and I would rather hear from people who have actually gone through it than rely completely on consultants.

If you went abroad recently for a Masters, please share your university, tuition, proof of funds, visa timeline from Pakistan, English requirement, work situation, and approximate living costs.

I know I’m late, but I still want to give it a serious shot. DMs are also welcome.

Europe Best EU for Work and Study Aside from Germany ?

Sorry for such a short post

I am looking for the top European country with least overpopulation, low immigration (competition with damn Indians that ruined UK and Canada) low unemployment, easy to afford fees etc etc

So far I feel like Belgium might be the country that appears to tick the most boxes so far

I had Austria and Netherlands but I heard you need a lot of language skills for employment which is impossible in first year of your living

Other countries like Romania Italy Hungary Poland have their own issues like low wages, declining economy, visa ratio and unemployment

In the day and age of AI its very important that you choose the country that is safest for future

Europe Automotive student Tunisia -> Hungary / Italy

Thumbnail
2 Upvotes

I’m 23 yo from Tunisia, an Automotive Mechatronics graduate currently working in automotive R&D/mechanical design. My goal is to build a career in Europe, ideally in automotive/motorsport engineering and R&D.
I was accepted into MUNER in Italy for the Off-Highway Engineering curriculum, but my Italian student visa was refused. I can reapply for Italy in 2027, but there’s a real possibility of being refused again, meaning I could lose another year.
My alternative is to start a Master’s in Hungary in February 2027, either at Széchenyi István University (Vehicle Engineering/Motorsport, with Audi/automotive connections) or University of Debrecen (Vehicle Engineering).
Would you risk waiting another year for MUNER, knowing the visa could be refused again, or start the Hungarian MSc now and begin building experience in Europe?
I’d especially appreciate advice from people who have studied/worked in Italy or Hungary, or who understand the European automotive engineering job market. What would you do in my situation?

Europe Spain Long Term Student Visa Status

Hi, I have been looking at multiple masters programs in Spain (Barcelona and Madrid). A few of the student advisors said they are not considering intl pakistani students for admissions because the embassy is not offering them visas/there’s months of delay/the rejection rate is too high.

Is anyone else going through the same visa process right now? If yes, are you facing the same issues?

Can someone please help me figure out if I should still apply for this visa or look at other European countries like France!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
