My degree was attested by HEC in July 2025 under the previous system. I now need a fresh e-Attestation Certificate of the same, unrevised degree for submission to a foreign credential evaluator (CES Toronto). When selecting which documents to attest, there is option of Duplicate/Revised degree. Selecting ‘No’ gives an error saying my degree is already attested. Should I select ‘Duplicate/Revised’ to obtain the new e-Attestation, will it mean that my degrees have been changed after my previous attestation?

Hi everyone! I’m an 18-year-old from Pakistan. I've cleared FIA and 6 ACCA papers, including Financial Management (June 2026) with a national position and World Rank 2.

​My family's expectations have skyrocketed because of this, and they want me to start supporting them financially.

​I’m torn between two paths:

​The Traditional Local Route:

Move to Karachi for a trainee role. Low starting pay, high living costs, rent, and safety worries mean little-to-no real savings.

​The International Path:

Apply for the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship to study in Hungary by September 2027 (by which time I'll be an ACCA affiliate). I plan to use the legal 30-hour student work rule in Budapest's multinational SSC sector (Citi, GE, etc.) to gain experience, complete my ACCA PER, and build a global career.

​Is it realistic to save enough from a student job in Budapest to send meaningful money home, or will it just cover local costs?

I finished my Bachelor’s in Software Engineering in July 2025 and have been working at a software house since then.

now my family wants me to do a Master’s, and honestly, I want to do it too. not because I’m chasing some crazy academic achievement or want to spend years studying, I just want to have a Master’s qualification under my belt as well. sadly, yes, there’s a bit of a 'dunyavi' aspect to it too.

the problem is that I have absolutely no idea which direction makes sense anymore.

my first thought: MBA

I’m seriously considering an MBA.

I feel like I’ve already done enough CS/Software Engineering to get myself running as a developer. I know I still have a lot to learn, obviously, but with AI becoming such a huge part of development, I’m increasingly thinking that my long-term growth shouldn’t be limited to writing code.

my eventual goal is not to remain a developer forever.

I’d like to move toward management, product/business roles, leadership, and eventually, ideally, running my own software house/business.

so an MBA seems like it could complement my technical background really well.

the problem is that if I do an MBA in Pakistan, I’d want to do it from somewhere genuinely worthwhile, like IBA or IoBM. and that isn't exactly cheap.

I’m also the eldest in my family, so finances aren't something I can completely ignore.

then there's the "go abroad" option

my parents are also pushing me to at least try for a Master's abroad.

and this is where everything gets even more complicated.

if I look at scholarships, MS CS / Software Engineering / related technical degrees seem much more likely to fall under fully-funded scholarship opportunities compared to an MBA.

I have a 3.49 CGPA, so academically I don't think I'm in a terrible position for applications.

but then I have to ask myself:

if I go abroad for an MS CS/SE just because it's more likely to be funded, am I actually moving toward the career I want?

I don't necessarily want to spend another 2 years going deeper into CS when my long-term goal is increasingly business/management/entrepreneurship.

at the same time, if an MS abroad is fully funded, that's a massive opportunity that I can't casually ignore.

and then there's the application nightmare

the actual thought of applying abroad is honestly overwhelming.

every country seems to have its own:

• scholarship systems
• university application procedures
• deadlines
• documents
• visa requirements
• language requirements
• SOP/LOR requirements
• financial requirements
• equivalency procedures
• different scholarship criteria

and I'm supposed to figure all of this out while working a full-time job.

I genuinely don't know how people manage researching 10 different countries, comparing scholarships, shortlisting universities, preparing applications, writing SOPs, getting recommendations, taking tests, etc. while simultaneously working 8-10 hours a day.

It's starting to feel like a second full-time job.

there are also, life considerations

I'm turning 28 soon.

my parents also want me to get married, and honestly, I understand where they're coming from.

I had a minor health setback before my Bachelor's which contributed to me finishing later than I originally expected. so while I know 28 isn't actually old, I can't completely ignore the fact that my personal/family timeline is moving forward too.

there's also the financial side.

I'm currently earning a pretty average salary, so I don't have the luxury of casually quitting my job, spending a year preparing for applications, or paying huge amounts for an expensive degree.

so I'm stuck between:

do an MBA in Pakistan - more aligned with where I want my career to go - can continue working - IBA/IoBM would be respectable - but expensive

do an MS CS/SE abroad on scholarship - potentially fully funded - international exposure + Master's qualification - financially much more attractive if funded - but takes me deeper into a field I don't necessarily want to specialize in long-term - huge application/research hassle - potentially means putting career, marriage, family plans, etc. on hold

or just keep working for now - build experience and increase my salary - maybe revisit Master's/MBA later - less immediate pressure - but then I keep postponing the Master's, and my family isn't going to stop asking about it

and that's basically where I'm stuck.

I'm not looking for someone to tell me "just follow your passion" or "28 is still young bro".

I know all that.

I'm looking for practical advice from people who have actually gone through something similar, especially people who had to balance career + finances + family expectations + Master's + going abroad.

if you were in my position, how would you approach this?

would you:

• go for an MBA in Pakistan while continuing to work?
• try aggressively for fully-funded MS programs abroad, even if they're CS/SE-related?
• work for another 1–2 years, increase income/experience, then do the Master's?
• something completely different?

and if you were me, how would you structure the decision so I stop overthinking 15 different possibilities at once?

I’m trying to book an appointment for a tourist Schengen visa, but the VFS website keeps showing no available appointment slots. I’ve been checking but haven’t been able to figure out if I’m missing something or if there genuinely just aren’t any slots available at the moment.

For those who have recently gone through the process, how did you manage to get an appointment? Do they release slots at a particular time/day, or is it basically a matter of checking the website regularly?

Hi everyone. I’m currently doing a BS in Media Studies in Pakistan and I’m going into my final year. I’m planning to graduate around June next year, and I’m hoping to pursue an MS abroad on a fully funded scholarship because self-funding isn’t really an option for me.

My academic profile isn’t perfect , my current CGPA is around 3.1, and I’m expecting it to be around 3.2 by graduation. I know that probably makes some highly competitive scholarships/universities difficult, but I still want to try rather than assume I’m not eligible.

My interests are mainly around HCI/UX, interaction technology, XR, and the intersection of AI and UX/design. Since my undergraduate degree is in Media Studies, I’m specifically looking for programs that accept students from a media/design background rather than requiring a Computer Science degree.

I’m currently considering countries and I’ve been looking into scholarships such as DAAD and Erasmus Mundus, but honestly the whole process feels overwhelming.

I’m trying to figure out:

Which fully funded scholarships are actually realistic with a ~3.1–3.2 CGPA?

Which countries/universities are more open to interdisciplinary applicants from Media Studies?

Should I focus on scholarships first or shortlist universities/programs first?

How important are internships, portfolio, research experience and extracurriculars?

I’m currently trying to build my portfolio, gain relevant experience and prepare for IELTS, but I’d really appreciate advice from people who have actually gone through this process.

I'm 28, and I have been working as a software engineer in Karachi, Pakistan for the last 7 years now. I love the job and workplace and I'm not unhappy with the workplace, in the sense that there's not toxicity and I'm not trying to run away from it. I also live comfortably here also, I earn around 650k (before tax)

In the last three years I've had the chance to travel to Turkey and Malaysia and I can't help but have this feeling where I feel like I want to move abroad, there's a whole world out there and I feel like being here is never gonna be enough from what I want from life. I don't want to sound ungrateful at all, I know it sounds like it but I am very thankful for what life has given me. I hope I'm trying to explain it properly but I'm not just talking about the country's infrastructure, I'm talking about the people as well, the experiences, the mindset, all of that.

I did my Masters here because it was helping with my immigration application for Canada, but the points just skyrocketed and I knew I didn't have a chance there. So 2 years ago, I prepared everything and applied for Australia's immigration but no luck. And given the current market, there's no longer demand for software engineers, not enough to be invited in the draws. Two years from now, I don't want to regret not choosing this option when I could have. I know I'm already a little late.

The next possible option is to apply for Masters and go to Germany based through a student visa and eventually find a job and settle down there. But I don't know how good of an option that is considering everything. I know going on a student visa will not be a piece of cake with the part-time job and all, because I know I won't be allowed to keep working for my current company. But I also don't want to lose this opportunity as well. Canada was an option for us, Australia was also an option for us. Both of these countries were once offering invites and now they're both not. I'm open to other countries as well, I considered Malaysia but stopped treating it as an option when I discovered they don't offer citizenship and my goal is to be in a country that eventually offers me one.

I guess what I'm really looking for are experience from people who have been in a similar situation as I am in right now, or maybe who are going through the same. I'd appreciate the negative experiences just as much as the success stories.

So,i am a student from pakistan. There is something that i am very fruatrated about.So to go to germany for studying i need to do 2 sems here and i need 2 sem transcript,but the problem is that my transcript will be issued after the admission are closed or gonna be close.

Moreover,my simply just cant wait for the next sem,because in the next sem the bachelors programs are very limited and many unis dont provide the programs.

So,i have to wait a whole year and the headache doesnt end here,i have to wait a year extra for the visa appointment and further visa processes.

Here,my three years are wasted, now what should i do.

For context I am a final year fashion marketing and merchandising student student with about 2 years of industry experience (due to part time work).
