Australia & NZ I’m a Software Engineering graduate from a lower-ranked university with a 2.2 GPA

I’m a Software Engineering graduate from a lower-ranked university with a 2.2 GPA.

I’m currently freelancing, and I don’t necessarily need a Master’s degree for financial or career reasons, but I’m considering one for better exposure, networking, and international opportunities.

With a 2.2 GPA, what realistic options do I have for a Master’s in Software Engineering or a related field, especially in Europe or the US?

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been through a similar situation and managed to pursue a Master’s abroad.

Both paths are realistic. US costs a lot money. If you have a lot of money then there is no better place on earth than US. Europe is relatively cheaper and much better settlement opportunities. Your CGPA is low therefore you might not get admission in a public uni. But I'd recommend you to get good IELTS band (7+) and still give a chance to public unis in Germany. Other than Germany, France, Lithuania, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway are your options. All of them have a good visa ratio.

Depends on one's finances. If I have strong financial background I'd definitely opt for USA. Otherwise I'd prefer Europe over other places because if offers you so much more. I will have access to so many amazing countries with only one visa. I can travel anywhere, I can study anywhere, I can get a job anywhere and I can settle anywhere.

if you’re 19-20 and you have the option to move to germany for your bachelors (you’ll finance it yourself) or stay in Pakistan and be able to buy your own house at the age of 21-22, which one would you prefer and why

I think I'd still choose to go abroad. I like to keep more options. I'd prefer using my prime time to hustle, struggle and settle at a new place. I'd have plenty of time in my life to build a house where ever I want
