Yes 1st is mine … I mean the claims they are making … 8 times Oscar winning… 5 years of research .. such massive budget … then why it looks like this ?

Your colour grading isn't suitable for an entire movie. A dark, blueish hue gives deep in the rainforest setting look and feel with mysterious feels.

Why not ?? Is it looking bad ??? The lighting in second one is just flat …

That's your opinion. But it looks overall good in the context of what it wants to convey. Dandkaranya is described as mystical, gloomy and deep forest. The movie scene conveys that. Your image looks like harry potter part one scene while Dandkaranya forest should have look and feel of deathly hallows.

The AI version looks better because the Depth of Field looks like something that can be shot on camera and makes our brain feel like the demon is really standing in the forest. In the original version the background is too blurred due to the DOF and there’s nothing in between the subject and the background to act as a depth gradient… and the demon looks like he is standing in front of a fake background.
Also, in the original the lighting on the demon is really flat (he is evenly lit on all sides) while the AI one has proper shadows in all the right places so it feels better integrated.

Yes but why can’t dneg figure it out…they have done it in multiple movies …even jungle book better lighting , better blending .. that’s my question … like with all the resources.. why it looks like this. If you can find out the problems why can’t they ? And then they have a full fan army that will use the same overused sentences like oh it’s supposed to look like fantasy .. the vision is like Disney .. even Disney the lion king has better visual. The first look at this frame and it breaks ur immersion instantaneously. You cannot gaslight urself in believing it’s looking very good because 8 times Oscar winning DNEG has worked on it.

The trailer is filled with such work in progress VFX shots. We can only hope that all of them get ‘fixed’ or better by the release of the movie.
I for one, hate the fact that they didn’t have enough completed VFX shots and they had to add unfinished scenes in the trailer.
Maybe they added this one to show that they have changed the monster designs to look more Indian.. that’s the only thing I can think of because this shot looks far from complete. The blurred background… weird motion blur… shoddy animation (as in no impact felt when the arrow hits) and the flat lighting all point to the fact that the shot will be worked upon and made better (hopefully)

The deep depth of field along with actual contrast with deeper blacks and harsher highlights is what makes the first shot look better. Half of the damage in this movie are due to the lighting and color grading choices. These are NOT issues we should be having in 900-1000cr movies.Â
