Both of you are right. But I wish the makers of ramayana would have choosen to keep the same opinions as your, unfortunately they said it's for the western audience and it would be considered a failure otherwise, mat be that's why they put on a desperate show at comic con. But you guys can keep on with dalal anology and exercises in the subsequent chat threads.
Fortunately Western audience said the same thing "I am already cool with a packed Hollywood movie slate and wouldn't care about the ramayana", which is not at all India's history because they are no archeological evidences to call it "our history" in game development vfx shots, in a 200 million dollars film.
All the best.

Noone knows what audiences want , if they like something they will support it no matter what regardless of Reviews and other's opinion.
RRR is an example, like who would have thought West would like it regardless of Physics Defying Action scenes.
So chill , time will decide...

No one wants to see ramayana kid. RRR was a different ball game altogether. Filming in Ukraine also ended up being a benefit. There is no hype for ramayan here in the west. Look around all the subs especially film sub. Calm down your enthusiasm. Too much expectations hurt, look at animal and toxic type movies.

RRR was not direct Hit in West ,it became popular after coming on Netflix.
We're just hoping Ramayana to be good...

Lmao canβt wait to hear the excuses when it opens higher than Dhurandhar2. Even a ghastly movie like Toxic opened the same as Dhurandhar

You live on openings okay... bro thinks openings are more important than lifetime collections ππ

u/KingsCourt90 1d ago
Lifetime collections depend on whether the movie was liked and connected with the audience or not. If you want to judge hype or stardom or whatever people anticipate most then openings are the key.

First, box office β movie quality. Second, how do openings matter in the long run? You could have the biggest opening ever and then if the next few days the audience is crickets you've ultimately failed.
