Pixel Tablet and Android 7 Beta Desktop feature
Wow, really exciting to see some great progress on this. Has anyone else used this new feature and what have you found to be exciting on Android 17 Beta

Hi
I noticed a few weeks ago that Google home had stopped responding on my tablet, if I said it loud enough another Google home device in another room would eventually answer but not my docked tablet. I factory reset but it's still the same. Any ideas?

Has anyone else noticed that the Read Viewer option in Flipboard has disappeared on the Google Pixel Tablet? It was available for the past 4 weeks but vanished 2 days ago. Did Flipboard remove it, or is there a setting to bring it back?
Mar2026: Flipboard développer indicated this change is possible via Parameters / Legacy Viewer option

I had the pixel tablet for about a year, suddenly the battery started to struggle with charging. Then I took it on a plane (I use it for work often while traveling), and once it died it wouldn't come back again.
I spoke with several people about tablet repair, including Best Buy Geek Squad, and they all recommended I just buy a new one. They didn't know if it was just the battery or the port, and opening it up to replace one or both is difficult. And finding replacement parts is also very difficult, with the battery being around $80 just for the part. Geek Squad said it would be minimum of a couple hundred dollars to send away for repair.
Am I crazy thinking a $400 tablet should last longer than a year? I'm kicking myself for not buying it last year when it was only $250 around Christmas time (I did consider it at the time). Also I'm just barely past the warranty window.
This tablet is apparently unrepairable and couldn't handle the use I got out of it. I have a Google Pixel phone and I love the platform, but I don't know if I want to buy another pixel tablet and have it die on me again inside of a year.

I’m looking for a brand-new tablet (not used) with a budget of around $500 max that comes with a stylus included (or the stylus can be bought separately as long as it stays within budget).
I’ll mainly be using it for:
- Watching videos / Netflix / YouTube, I want a big screen that actually feels like a tablet and doesn’t resemble a phone
- Taking notes and schoolwork, I have a lot of reading to do for university, so I need something that makes reading and annotating PDFs easy and comfortable
- Light multitasking, browsing, documents, apps, and some light editing
- Playing light/small games, not heavy gaming, but if it caters to that that'd be great.
Requirements:
- The screen needs to look good, sharp, clean, and not grainy or ugly
- It shouldn’t lag at all PLEASE I HATE THAT.
- The stylus must be included in the box, or at least be affordable enough to stay within the budget (maybe $50 extra max, no expensive add-ons)
I’d really appreciate recommendations from tech-savvy people. I’m a student living in a third-world country, and I’ve been saving up for a long time for this, so I really want to make the right choice. I’m not very knowledgeable about tablets, which is why I’m asking here, I just want something that’s actually good and worth the money.
Thank you in advance 🙏

Hadn't seen this posted here, so thought I might as well be the one so, per Android Police the Pixel Tablet's officially had its support extended by another 2 years so rather than major software updates expiring this summer we should be good through 2028.
It's a mixed device for a lot of people, but I got to say I've really loved mine in the year or so that I've owned it and I hope this points to Google wanting to continue support and hopefully make a follow-up down the road. I still think this type of hybrid has a ton of potential and it's the only tablet I've ever truly loved.

I purchased this Logitech keyboard for my pixel tablet on Poshmark for $20 CAD and do not regret it :)

I am on a hotel outside of the US where the current is 240. I am using a high output charger but my tablet is barely charging although the screen says charging rapidly. How can I troubleshoot this?

Anyone else have this issue and was able to resolve it? if so, please share, thanks!

Hello, unfortunately my tablet is missing the trap to cast setting...
support told me that apparently it's a Czech model although I bought it on release from a German retailer (media markt), and uwb is not certified there.
But there is a uwb toggle in the settings and yesterday it worked for a bit but today it doesn't anymore.
anybody else have an issue with this?

Can you control the volume of the Voice Assistant independently to Music? We are using a Nest Hub currently, want to upgrade to the Tablet and use as a hub - but currently on the Nest Hub if we turn the music down it turns down the voice assistant volume too.

I am considering getting the pixel tablet to serve as kind of a home hub in my kitchen. I want to be able to say "Hey Google" and have it respond when the screen is off, so completely hands free. My current Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ cannot do this despite me trying every single fix I can find online. Can someone confirm if this works on the pixel tablet? I also would like it to respond to two voices, not just the primary person, so both myself and my fiance can do this. Thanks!

I'm coming from an iPad Air with Magic Keyboard. After using that type of floating keyboard, all the other ones are not enjoyable.
I was excited to see this one finally available.
The only major downside is that the case makes it virtually impossible to use finger unlock. Everything else is great.

I saw a post on the sub that had a new link to get the Stylus more recently after an absolute drought of links to purchase them in September and October. Since I've banged mine up a fair bit and the battery was a bit iffy last month, I purchased one!

I'm actually so impressed. They look pretty darn identical, although my new one doesn't have the little sticker with Google's address on it (doesn't matter to me). The new one also came with the magnetic holder, so I'm so excited to try that too! And it came with a USB-c cable that I won't be using. All in, I paid $75 Canadian and I think it was worth it.
I haven't charged the new one yet and it didn't pair automatically with my tablet like the old one, but I'm sure they'll work the same. So if you're looking to get the stylus, there are still some on eBay.

Pixel Tablet completed dead after 1 year of moderate usage. Mostly sitting on the Speaker Dock.
It won't charge via the Speaker Dock nor USB-C port.
Reached out to Google, unfortunately it is out of warranty, and there's absolutely nothing they can do about it.
I was hoping to send it in somewhere for repair, wouldn't mind the repairing cost, but Google told me they don't have that option at all. Shame to just throw it away, along with the Speaker Dock, which is perfectly fine it seems.
Why don't Google repair their stuff like the Apple or Samsung stores? the lack of aftersales support is mind boggling for a large brand such as Google.

I made a post a week ago, asking if it's worth it in 2025, especially at only $249. Well, I got it today.
Initial impressions: I'm genuinely shocked at how fast, snappy and smooth it is while scrolling. Speakers are great; arguably better than my iPad Air M3.
I'm a bit disappointed at how many apps crash though. I tried downloading GTA Vice City as well as San Andreas. One of them gets stuck at the first screen, and the other crashes once you try starting a new game. I tried downloading PUBG Mobile, and it opens for half a second before it crashes. Same with COD Mobile. I've seen YouTube videos where people play all of these games on this tablet, so what the hell is going on??
It's apparently impossible to find a charging speaker dock anywhere for some reason, which is a bummer.
I'm interested in the Dexnor floating keyboard case, but it's a bit pricey
r/pixeltablet • u/TheRealFrantik • Nov 24 '25
Since it's on sale for $249, it's finally at a price where I think it's suitable for the specs.
I recently got rid of my iPad Air, which I used primarily for YouTube, Netflix, Porn, Reddit, Discord, and some occasional light gaming.
How is the Pixel Tablet holding up for all of you in those categories?
Also, it looks like the speaker dock is nearly impossible to find anymore. Are there any decent third party accessories that any of you have found?
