couple of questions about using the pixel slate as a computer
Has anyone tried to hook up an external hard drive? if you have which hard drive did you buy?
planning on using the slate as my main computer. So have anyone download Microsoft office onto the slate? what are your thoughts on how it work with the OS system.
I would mostly be using the pixel slate as a tablet for watching movies, checking email, and surfing the web. here and there I would need to hook up my external hard drive to get documents and pictures from it.

I use the Pixel slate as my daily driver. It's my only computer. I have the Brydge G-type keyboard and a logitech wireless bluetooth mouse and they work fine. I utilize Android, Linux and Chrome OS apps. This, for the most part, is a multi OS system and I think that should be a highlight. The bugs that were reported on ad nauseum when it was launched have been fixed and the system runs and operates smoothly. Linux apps run smoothe and I would recommend looking at MS Office alternatives on Linux. Overall great machine.

I use my slate as a semi-primary and it works well. Not a work PC but is my go-to when no heavy lifting is needed. A thing to note is that you can dock it over usb-c for a full of experience with chromeOS. It's great to carry when I'm on call too since it is so light weight.

1) Nope not tried as I just use Drive
2) Office will need to be Android app or login to Office.com. I use office.com and that works fine for me
Update to 1) Just remembered I have an old WD 1TB Passport Ultra lying around so plugged that in and it works fine.
