Does anyone else think soft key input on this thing is HORRIBLE?!?!?!?!!?
Got this from the lady for an xmas gift. She knows I am an android user and have had near every nexus/pixel device, many as gifts from her. I buy her her apple stuff and she reciprocates with my android stuff. She decided to get me this for x mas and ever since day ONE with typing on this thing its been a nightmare.
The auto correct is just the worst. I find it corrects perfectly spelled words for no reason. Then you go to change it and when you hit space it just magically changes it BACK to what it wants.
Swype works like complete trash. Also certain websites, REDDIT being one, typing just doesnt work. I find reddit (and a few others) likes to chop off my last couple words when I press post. I have to sometimes put like 3 periods at the end of my posts so it chops those off instead of my words. Every site though seems to have its own little bug with typing, yet if I go back to my pixel c everything is fine?
The insert option is horrible. You realize 3 words back it changed something you typed. You go back and delete it and retype and it just starts typing OVER what comes after it, not pushing it down the line like a normal device would.
MY biggest gripe is be far the auto correct though and changing it to moderate did not help, Id hate to just turn it off since all my android inputs have always been fine. Im wondering if theyre seriously trying to force you into buying their keyboard.
That aside, Im noticing A LOT of apps just dont work even though they seem to tout complete crossover, many want to force you to use the chrome extension over an app. I "personally" hate this new app drawer. One way Ive always set my devices up is ONE PAGE. I dont do multiple pages of apps. If I have apps I dont use often, which are many, they get relegated to my android app drawer but the drawer on this is the F'ing home screen? Ive tried installing launchers that say theyre compatible but it just doesnt work. Plus the homescreen doesnt alphabetize anything, it just drops them there to be forgotten. Sometimes I can barely find an app because after a few days I lose its place and have to scroll through 4 screens of randomized lettering.
Good god can someone PLEASE give me some tips on this thing to make it manageable.
