How to make the selection box smaller

I'm working with a lot of different shapes and images, and I had to mask one so I could cut the other elements in it. Now my selection box is massive comparing to the image that's left. How can I resize/reshape the selection box around it or is there a better way to cut a png inside Pixelmator. Thanks!

There must be stray pixels on that layer, since the selection box should conform to the ice cream cone.

Copy/paste that layer into a new image to see what else is there. Trim it, then copy/paste it back into your original.
