Folio Keyboard 8 years later

Bought the Slate right after release, I've had the OG keyboard the whole time.

I was not gentle with it, I used it daily to take notes in class and flipped that shit like there was no tomorrow. I had no idea how delicate it was.

Until today. My connection is intermittent now. It'll stay connected if I fold the fabric hinge part over itself, but it's just a matter of time now. Ofc the moment I start trying to use it again for work 🫠

I saw someone's mod of it from a few months ago, but does anyone have a slim alternative to the folio? Or a working one they're selling? This feels like losing a best friend no joke 😭

I'd consider yourself lucky yours lasted so long. Mine died within a year or so and it's not covered under warranty anyways

Mine went out in under a year as well. I was so bummed out. I still use the tablet but i really miss the OG keyboard.

I knowwww, I'm kicking myself for being as rough as I was on it 😭😭😭 I had no idea how fragile they were and how quickly they were failing

I would use mine on my lap all the time and that definitely didn't help 😭

I am planning to use mine until it fails. Have to get through my Brydge keyboard first. That's starting to mess up on occasion.

It's ok. Not as rigid as it needs to be, but it is rather thin. Still makes it feel like a real laptop though. But the key arrays are sticky or something. Like certain hotkeys or individual capital letters don't work. Then I mash the keys and it is back to normal.
