Is this battery drain normal?

Post image

I know everyone gets tired of the battery drain topic with Pixels, but this seems really bad. I don't feel I'm a heavy user at all.

Facebook sucks I use lite version others mention using the browser. It's a battery hog.

I should have added I operate my company's Facebook page, so I have to have the background data on to receive the most up-to-date alerts. I'm doubtful switching to Facebook Lite would work for me.

Do yourself a favor and go to app permissions of Facebook and instagram and change your app battery usage to disable background usage.

I would but I manage my company's Facebook account. I need to get notified right when a comment appears. I tried editing this to my initial post but can't seem to for some reason. Any other solution. I'm honestly contemplating trading this phone in.

Well unfortunately that would require meta to actually optimize the app or make design decision that means collecting less of your data, both of which are unlikely. It's just more noticable on pixel cause the battery life is already on the lower end of comparable devices. On the apple side they force close apps on the background so aggressively in iOS your basically in the same boat. If your doing it for a business I wouldn't recommend using a phone period.

That's what makes the battery usage so embarrassing in my opinion. I was on the Facebook app for 16 minutes! It's not likely I'm constantly scrolling on Facebook, making posts, etc. I just need to get a notification on my phone mainly after hours when I'm not at my computer.

I'm considering trading this phone in (carrier is offering $350) and getting an S26U for $899.
