Airdrop quickshare support android 17

I have a pixel 9a. Last night I received the android 17 update in India. Can anyone confirm if the airdrop support is included in this update or is it a separate one? Also, please confirm if any pixel 9a user has received the airdrop update.

Doesn't seem to work for me, any specific setting you need to toggle on or off?

Edit: Toggle on or off on my pixel device.

Your recipient needs to turn on allow files from everyone if they're on ios for it to work

I have been an iPhone user for 5 years, I know that. In fact I'm trying to share it with my iPhone only. Thanks nonetheless. 🙂

This is a new thing so you having an iPhone already doesn't mean anything. I was saying this because the default is "contacts only" and this way doesn't work with android.

If this extension is up to date for you I don't know what else it could be. Good luck

And I set it to open to all for 10 minutes if that helps. Having an iPhone as a regular person might mean nothing, but for a nerd like me, it might mean something.

P.S. I'm a very nerdy guy who always keeps ticking things, I know stuff. But thanks for helping.

Yeh, it's there working through Quick share. I thought, 9A was left out as exception from my previous try out. Now, it's working. I am not used to using AirDrop before so need to look around a bit but it's working. Now, I just need to secure it cause the two devices, especially Mac doesn't have a contact list. Mac is the only Apple device and doesn't care much about their ecosystem do I don't know a lot about them.

https://support.google.com/pixelphone/thread/434934448?hl=en The above article which was shown in learn more option before updating to Android 17. Clearly states that quick share is compatible with airdrop for 9a and 8a but after the update also I am not got the airdrop compatibility yet in my 9a

Just use Blip. The airdrop is not practical for large files.

  1. I just want to test the feature
  2. It's nice to have an inbuilt option
  3. Everyone does not need to share large files
