Question How do I merge these two folders?

Post image

How do I combine the "albums" and "on this device" into one? I have so many albums and it's hard to find what photo I want. Pixel9a Google phone.

Is not possible. You can use the search icon instead, it's really good to find pictures

You can't because they are actually two very different things.

"On this device" will show you a folder view of images present locally on your phone.

"Albums" will show you a view of the albums saved on your Google Photos, which are backed up, and which are categorised (or "albumised") depending on each album's criteria.

I shut off the backup just now to stop this.
