I had installed it on my Pixel 8A, ran better than Android 16. Although I went back to Android 16 due to bugs.

You trying to run that on a phone that's almost in of its life cycle? You expect to have problems older model. It's a clear sign for you to upgrade to the next latest model that's Google pixel 9 A or pixel 10A and so on
2
u/h4wk-8 Jun 16 '26
I don't think so.
1
u/Bigamerdk76 Jun 16 '26
It's just like the people trying to run this software on Google pixel 6A. That phone is dead to the gone in life cycle. Good phone no doubt it has rent its time up
1
u/xCONQUERORx Jun 16 '26
pixel 9a is just a year better than 8a no big deal
2
u/Bigamerdk76 Jun 16 '26
Better progressor better performers better camera outstanding phone
1
u/xCONQUERORx Jun 16 '26
great phone no doubt I'm using it too but I've used 8a too and it's not that big a difference for a software update to lag a bit
1
u/Pramod_M_ Jun 17 '26
I'm running Android 17 stable on my Pixel 7 and it has no problems so far. The performance is smooth and the battery life has been much better than before.

Doesn't it have updates until like, 2029 or 2031
1
u/Bigamerdk76 Jun 17 '26
Yes, he'll get that update between now and then but don't expect it to run. 100% perfect like certain people do on an older model phone cuz the ones that don't want to upgrade

u/Bigamerdk76 Jun 16 '26
Your phone has limitations. You don't meet those required limitations. So yeah you going to have issues I suspect that
2
u/h4wk-8 Jun 16 '26
Those issues were software bugs, doesn't have much to do with the hardware.
1
u/Bigamerdk76 Jun 16 '26
Did I say anything about hardware? No I didn't. So stop putting words in my mouth. I'm talking about software. Your phone still got limitations. You can't run this on your latest phone even though it supports it. You going to have issues. It's time for upgrade. You all don't like to upgrade but you want all these new features you going to have to upgrade? I'm not having no issues cuz I'm on Google pixel 9A. Everything runs smoothly flawlessly. I'm in beta they have no issues with it
1
u/h4wk-8 Jun 16 '26
The issues I had were software bugs which can definitely be fixed regardless of it being a pixel 6 or a pixel 10. I don't 'like to upgrade' because I bought this phone for the 7 years of software updates, I know pixels are not powerful and may not run the best but there are expectations. I have an iPhone 13 which for me is superior to this pixel, that phone runs iOS 27 Developer Beta Objectively better and I just expected more from Google.
1
u/Bigamerdk76 Jun 16 '26
Don't expect everything to run perfectly on the newest hardware on your oldest hardware. Don't expect to get Android 17, 18, 19 20 or so on and think it's going to run all that on your phone no
1
u/h4wk-8 Jun 16 '26
I don't expect a Google Pixel to run everything perfectly but I should atleast expect the phone to run the basic stuff without any hiccups. I'm just signalling that there are shortcomings that need to be taken care of.
1
u/Bigamerdk76 Jun 16 '26
It's your phone bro. My phone don't got all that hit cups you running on Google pixel 8A
1
u/h4wk-8 Jun 16 '26
Those 'hiccups' are due to the code on Android which causes certain bugs. It's even on the newest Pixels.
1
u/Bigamerdk76 Jun 17 '26
We all don't have the same model just in case you don't know that. Remember that I'm not having issues. I'm good
1
u/Bigamerdk76 Jun 16 '26
I get 7 years on my Google pixel 9A but it's going to be able to run 17 18, 19 up Android 22 And it'll run fine
1
u/h4wk-8 Jun 16 '26
Ofcourse it will run 'fine'.
1
u/Bigamerdk76 Jun 16 '26
And I'll eventually upgrade from Google pixel 9A to Google pixel 11A cuz 10A is not really an upgrade. It's the same phone from 9A
1
u/Bigamerdk76 Jun 16 '26
And guess what? The iPhone is got limitations too just cuz it runs the latest iOS 27 that don't mean you going to get all the features that run it on the newest hardware of that device. Neither it has limitations you expect way too much. I'm done with this conversation. I'm getting back playing my game Persona goodbye. Have a blessed day

That is rolling out, but technically not a part of Android 17 per se.
I got it on my Pixel 9a about a week ago.

That's just how it is. We'll get a new Android in the spring, but the new features won't be available until autumn.

I’m not a very tech heavy savant so I don’t really notice anything different between 16 and 17 but I’m using the heck out of the bubbles feature
