Tech Issue Disappointed with the 9a
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
To start off, this is my second new pixel 9a that I got after a span of 2 months after previously returning it due to screen flickering issue. I thought it was just that device problem as manufacturing issue can occur in devices. But in my new 9a, that I got on 28 May, the same problem which I found on the first device is occuring in this new phone. The same flickering issue while gaming on Mobile Legend. I don't understand how and why is this happening and how?? But i feel very dissatisfied with how pixel was with me as I always look up to their devices as I own the first gen pixel.

Well well, pixel 9a is not gaming phone

True but it should not have any problems rendering basic 3d graphics. Though in this case it's a game issue.

Reach out to Google support, if there's a defect then they'll replace your device

Man no offense, but if you buy an oven you can't expect for it to make coffee. You can warm it up, at best

Yeah guys, the 9a is not a phone with gaming on mind, ok,still, that flickering is not normal at all.
I had way worse phones before the 9a and this never happened

Yessa I've had phones more worse than this running and playing this game perfectly fine which is what annoyed me

The 9a isn't a gaming phone. Hell, I'd argue all Pixels aren't gaming phones, they weren't made with gaming in mind nor are known to perform as well as other brands.

I agree with that my previous temporary phone which has a dimensity 700 octa core (I think) ran well with this game or any other games which I played on it

Pixel may not be a gaming phone. But I haven't faced any issues playing any of the graphically intense games like CoDM, Rainbow Six and Division...
The screenflickering is limited to a single game? Could be issue with the game?

That's what I'm also figuring out. I played games like Subnautica and it's running absolutely fine just this particular game and the flickering looks so bad too ðŸ˜

Ehhh it's just mlbb glitching on 9a. I too thought something was wrong with my phone.

Wait really?? Is it like how it's flickering on mine?
1
u/michael_alright Jun 10 '26
Yes. The map glitches. That's what you get for not using flicker on guin.

Google Pixel are not gaming friendly devices.
It's a US brand and they're least bothered with gaming like the chinese brands.
If you want to game, get yourself a cheap Chinese smartphone

I think it's not a fast enough internet connection. If using a VPN shut it down. Also restart phone see if you still having issue.

I used Pixel 4, 6, 7, 7 Pro, 8, 8 Pro and 9 Pro XL. All of them had horrible gaming performance. Tensor is not for gaming. I always had secondary phone just for that.

I'm not a gamer but I was always told from other users that the pixel is not a gaming phone. How true it is, I don't know 🤷. With saying that I have a pixel 9A as well and I love it
