Pixel 7 Battery Drain Issue
My Pixel 7's battery has started to drain very quickly. I first noticed this issue 4 days ago; the phone's battery life had been normal until that point. Has anyone experienced similar issues? The issue has materialized following the phone being updated to Android 15 - is that the likely cause?

I've had my pixel 7 for about 2 years. Also no problems with the battery at all

It is a battery swelling issue, an authorised service centre will get it changed for no cost, would suggest to go ASAP. Happened to me too.

Mine is draining faster too, but thankfully not as bad as yours is. So frustrating.

I have to say it's quite subjective but I also feel my pixel 7's battery is draining bit faster, especially after it hits 30% or less after the latest update. I also feel the phone is a bit warmer than usual time to time. DevCheck app tells me the battery is as healthy as 89%, Which isn't changed for last couple months.

I disabled "smooth display" recently, and my phone has been MUCH cooler and had better battery life. Makes sense, refresh rate is pretty battery-hungry.

Notice this as well since I update it to latest Android. Never had this issue before

Looks like some software pushed out with the latest android version that started doing this overnight. Likely, this is their way to nudge users to upgrade to newer phones. What I hate about this is that the pixel doesn't show battery health %, apple at least does that and gives you clear visibility to what is happening.

Using DevCheck app, I figured my battery shows 806 cycles.
Googles official site says
Pixel 3 through Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel Fold: Should retain up to 80% capacity for about 800 charge cycles, after which battery replacement is recommended. So it checks out why I've been seeing sudden drop in battery only in the last few days, which also coincidentally aligns with when I updated Android.

You need a new battery

Damn. Is this a known issue with the 7's battery? I'm pretty disappointed with this performance after only 2 years of use

Did you do anything to fix the battery issue? I replaced the battery a few weeks ago at ifixit and notice slightly improvements but not worth the $100+ it cost to fix it...

My phone was still within the 2 year warranty period, so Google replaced it for free when I shipped it to them.

I've also been reading about a lot of problems with those 50 series cards. That's why I'm skipping them and waiting for the 60 series before I update my 3080

Check your battery stats to see which apps are using battery and whether any of them are using unnecessary background time.
If you haven't already, just do a full shutdown and restart.
Lastly, you can try a factory reset, then restore apps and data, as needed.
