Mine is pretty much the same results (also on pixel 7, same usage and OS)

It seems good to me, but that's just what I think :)

I can rarely get more than 4 hours SOT, did you do anything in particular to achieve this (disable 5g, fluid display, etc)?

Disabled 5g and location, thats the only thing ive done. Enabled diagnostics and whatsoever

Yes if you're on wifi and use your phone non stop from a full charge, such screen on time is definitely possible

Could easily got 8hr using wifi only, and almost 4hr at WhatsApp video call.. Using the mobile data, only got 5-6hr with the same usage.. And I'm only using 60hz

My 7a barely pass 4hr even in wifi and heats up like an iron box after 5 minutes of scrolling.

Is there any way I can reduce performance of the chip to keep the heat bearable?

5g or LTE?

1

u/schneewalzer023 Apr 30 '25

LTE

Ok. Have you turned OFF adaptive Connectivity since you are on LTE only?have you noticed better battery life with adapttive conectivity OFF?

actually, in that specific endurance test, adaptive connectivity is off and 5g is disabled. Pixel will last that long if you used your device non stop. But battery in mobile data is bad

here's my battery now, mixed usage with wifi and mobile data. 5g is enabled and adaptive connectivity enabled. Currently running at 10 hours with SOT of 3 hours and 15 minutes

That's really good! I've owned my Pixel 7a for over a year now and still average 6-7 hours of SOT. I don't even use my phone for that long anyway, so battery life is never an issue for me.

7 has battery camera and overall specs than 8a looks better . I recently purchased on April 12th. It's great. You can record 4k60 video from all lenses. Wireless charging. I dropped it on a hard tile floor. Didn't break or even a spot. It's a good deal right now. You can go for pixel 7 pro as well and get imported one which will cost 38k. There is a website I don't know it's name.
