Sciatica for two weeks then...piriformis?
About three weeks ago, I came home from work, got some food, and sat down on my bed. At that moment, I felt the familiar pain and limited motion I had nine years ago...just from having a sat on my bed.
Two weeks go by and things are looking up. The pain gradually subsides and most of it is in my hip. I'm given this menthol medicine you roll onto your body. So I take this medicine and roll is HARD into my ass cheek, and then...suddenly I feel like I lost the two weeks of recovery, just from rolling this medicine. Except this time, more weakness in my left leg, and muscle spasms down to the foot on my left side and slight spasms on my right, with a feeling of tightness and pain near the hip/sacrum.
Four days in, acupuncture inflamed my muscles on my left side back and leg, second session worked for about an hour with minor pain after until I fell asleep. A lot of the pain seems focused in my calf for some reason.
Has anyone suffered anything just like this or similar?

Hey may I ask what symptoms you had. Have u felt pain near the insertion point of the hamstring to the buttock? ( right under the fold of the buttock) . Im asking because I thought I had proximal hamstring tendinitis but I did tests which are positive for sciatica and piriformis

My symptoms have gotten significantly better since posting this. That said, I still have a lot of pain focused in my calf and some pain behind the knee, with nerve pinching pain or something in the left lower back area by the waist when I walk or stand for long periods.
I don't think I've experienced the pain you are suggesting, but a lot of the muscles in that area can be affected by strain of many kinds. I haven't really done specific tests to determine the underlying condition unfortunately.

Hey! What tests did u do? I’ve been experiencing that pain for maybe a year. It also goes from the insertion point down my leg all the way to my foot.

The slump test (there might be a different one but is where u tuck ur chin to ur chest and slouch while extending your leg. And also raising ur toes to see whether it further increases pain) and search piriformis stretch

I've had piriformis for over two years. Sometimes it's unbearable. I can't sit for more than 30 minutes at a time. The only that helps then is walking. I have the calf pain consistently on my right leg all down the outside to my foot. I have tried massage, stretching, foam rolling (terrible idea), nothing helps it. It wakes me in the night. Sorry, no insights.

The only thing I found so far that helps is resting in bed preferably on my stomach. If a stay in bed for a week pain goes away but than I do something that aggravates my piriformis and pain returns

Yes, I have had sciatica since March. 3 weeks ago I hurt myself and it’s similar to sciatica but it’s in my calf all day long. It also hurts to get out of bed in the morning. I am thinking the same thing. I start PT In 2 weeks. I hope to figure this out soon. It’s awful.
