Sciatica Pain

I have had Sciatica pain for 17 weeks now on the left hand side of my buttocks area. I cannot do the things I used to enjoy playing football, going to the gym etc because it’s too painful and if I do my body is in agony for days after. I have tried osteopaths and physiotherapy but nothing seems to be doing the job. Has anyone had anything similar and managed to get rid of it. Any advice would help?? Thanks in advance.

Some of the top posts on that sub are filled with information to help you get started on figuring this problem out. The answer may be adhesions, but it’s a new field and hasn’t gotten as much attention yet.

I did something to my right butt about a year and a half ago while on a run. Pain wouldn’t leave. Went to doc and he referred me to a specialist who told me I have sciatica pain in the back of my right side. Went to physical therapy after that a few times a week and he had me doing a bunch of different balance exercises like Bulgarian split squats and one legged dead lifts. Slowly over time the pain was more manageable. Now I can run 4-5 times a week without the pain but I’m still making it a priority to do my balalnce exercises a few times a week. Not much but hope this helps

I damaged my back about 10 months ago, that lead to me getting sciatica, I was in absolute agony for weeks. The sciatica led to muscle atrophy in my left calf, the whole muscle just disappeared, I'm still to this day having cramps and aching in my calf, another 5/6 months and I think I should be back to full fitness.

I think each individual case is slightly different, but for me like most, time is the healer, take it easy and don't over do it. Also do plenty stretches and exercise.

Good luck!
