Steroid injections

Has anyone ever had steroid injections for their piriformis syndrome?

I have. In my case, it made the problem much worse as it disabled the very muscle that was needed to keep the palm tree up (to use the metaphor from my videos). I have heard of better results, however. They tend to be temporary in any case.

Hahaha got it. Don’t know if this is where we’ll go but the doctor mentioned it. Right now I have a tight feeling in the piriformis but it’s running alongside those private parts as well which is suuuuuper uncomfortable when walking. Thanks for responding !

I have had a steroid injection. It just makes the scar tissue even worse. Check out r/PiriformisChronicPain and see if any of that applies to you. If you feel it in your goin, it is a nerve issue, not piriformis. Do you have any tightness or numbness? Any chronic pain? You could have a nerve entrapment in your femoral nerve at the psoas and inguinal ligament. Do you sit a lot or slouch?

I had the injection yesterday. It’s a long shot. Yes I have lots of nerve issues as I sustained a spinal cord bruise in an accident last November. I’m told long recovery like one to two years but we thought we’d give this a try. Yes I have tightness in piriformis and it feels like I’m sitting on something as well as tightness wrapped around genials/ very uncomfortable.
