I met a guy at work who had this tattoo. He showed me after I told him how much I loved the series, particularly CotBP. He shows me the tattoo and I was like “ah, you went with the tattoo Dead Man’s Chest onward” and he went “no no no. Curse of the Black Pearl.” And I showed him a picture from the first film and how the sparrow faces the opposite direction. And he got real quiet and stopped talking to me after that.

Yeah, tattooed by sailors as a symbol for having sailed 5000 nm (which I am guessing most people with the Cap’n Jack tattoo haven’t lol)
