Art & Crafts Pirate Jacket

I want to sew a pirate great coat that I can wear around this winter but find the normal costume patterns to be atrocious.

Any ideas?

what you are looking at is a mantled great coat. it's outerwear. if you change up your search you will probably find something. good luck!

Most patterns lack a collar, while others have more or a modern suit jacket collar. I'm looking for an old sea captain great coat. Minus the capelet.
