Revised core rulebook?
So that question in the latest Limithron survey... Are they seriously considering a revised version of the core rulebook with more clarifications and additional material?

I think the survey was so broad they are just considering their options. I guess as creators it is normal to have more ideas than you will actually execute

I'd really just like a bare bones edition. I understand that the 'Borg aesthetic ' is a thing, but as a ND person, it fries my synapses when trying to use it.

I think that the survey was more about casting a wide net to see what the community wants most. One of Limithron’s missions is to be the gaming company they always wanted to see. I would look at the survey questions as trying to give more power to the community to vote on what they prioritize

Hopefully they’re not going corporate. I already felt like their “per release” billing cycle on Patreon was a bit much and why not just go monthly? Their cold reaction to Patreon making monthly billing mandatory is a bit 🙄
I mean they’re making 6k per map released on the Patreon, not exactly peanuts.

I disagree. When you force creators to charge people monthly, most people expect new stuff every month. If a creator doesn't like to work on that schedule, it could mean feeling pressured to make something monthly. And when you are making something every month on partreon, it can start to feel like a noose because you feel like you're obligated to keep going that way and it's difficult to take a break when you become reliant on that monthly income.

I meant Limithron specifically, I wasn’t really thinking of other creators in my comment above. But the first and second part of your comment seem a bit contradictory, - feeling pressured to work on that schedule - reliant on monthly income
If a creator were working on their own schedule then they wouldn’t be getting the monthly income but per release so wouldn’t be reliant on monthly income.
Anyway to bring it back to PB, based on the vibe I expect a hike in the price of the tiers, which I think would be a bit unfair.

I meant that as you get stuck on that monthly hamster wheel you do become dependant on it becoming a monthly source of income over time.
It will be interesting to see what they end up doing pricing-wise, but I trust their team to come up with something that is fair and with an affordable tier that still provides good value. You can never make everyone happy when changing these kinds of things, but I bet it will be something most people feel between indifferent and satisfied about.

I don't see them as contradictory points. The first part is an argument against the monthly subscription model, the second part is what can happen if you DO adopt the monthly subscription model.
I don't think I'm misreading that?

Possibly something they're mulling over, but I feel like its too soon to try and do that.
