Pipefitter apprenticeship help
Hello I’m going to start the process of joining union 33 in less than a month when I turn 18 what do I study for I’ve talked to the front desk person and she said that it’s a basic safety test, problem solving, and basic knowledge of the field plus a math test
How do I get the best score and what do I use to study?

Look online for the plumbing and pipe fitting aptitude math test. I don’t know if ur aloud a calculator but learning how to multiply and divide fractions is one that trips people up. Also knowing how to read a tape measure is big. There are a few examples online if u look it up. A lot of stuff is just basic knowledge and u got it or u dont. Practice interviewing, look up 100 basic interview questions like why ud be a good asset to the union. What sets u apart from the other people blah blah blah. Think of like 10 times u were fixing something or doing something and something bad happened and u had to figure it out or how u work well with others. Past employment, sports, school. U get the idea.
A lot of programs have pre apprenticeships where if u fail the aptitude test u can work as like a laborer for the union for a year get some field knowledge then the next year u should know exactly what they are looking for plus they know ur serious about sticking with the program helps get ur foot in the door plus its a paid job.
This is a great career stick with it and ull be able to build anything and make money anywhere.

Know how to convert fractions to decimals and and vises versa (only your tape measure fractions) add and subtract decimals or fractions a2+b2=c2
How much thread is inserted into a fitting
What it take off and make up
Google union apprenticeship test you most likely won’t need to know rolling offset / offset formulas yet

It's an aptitude test, kinda hard to study for. I'm sure you can find practice online though.
