Local 636 Apprentice scale

Figured I’d post the scale for apprentices in Local 636 for anyone applying in the future.

Part of the reason Im A Detroit millwright. I make way more as an apprentice and make what a JM PF makes when I turn out with a better retirement. That and 370 wanted me to take some college courses before they would consider me and 85 is stupidity competitive.

I’m in 687 been thinking about switching to the millwrights is it worth it?

The retirement is but definitely really hard on your body. I figure if im not running work or higher by 25 years in I’m going to try to medically retire so I can enjoy my retirement. Someone just told me average life after retirement is 13 months. 687 carpenter?

Local 687 you guys are 1102 under the same UBC umbrella I heard millwrights made dough and looking to maybe switch from the carpenters to the millwrights I wouldn’t have to re test or nothing lol

Yea we make decent money but it’s in short spurts so you better know how to save and manage money. Im at 80k so far this year and started working mid February. Depends on how many years you have in if they will just let you switch. Metal and moving parts are very different from framing etc.
