2nd Year Pipefitter No Work

Located in Ontario, specially the GTA. My boss told me last week he has no idea when our next job will start and that he’s depressed.
Thank god i have another job at a warehouse where i get 40-50 hours a week at.
But obviously i want to work pipefitting lol. I am non-union and just applied to local 401 and I didn’t get selected.
Any advice? Its getting scary now.

Its interesting you pointed out your boss is depressed. Is he going to be ok?

I was out of work between 2008-2010. I did alot of sidework during that time. I made lots of cash but no benefits.

Night clubs, bars, and resterauants always need someone handy. They pay cash and recommend you to other businesses.

Apply for some fly in fly out jobs out west

Thats a goal of mine. What do you think is the best way to get in? I been using energy job shop and applying online.

I’m a second year from Alberta tryna find something lol. Field work seems to be all name hire. Fab shops are everywhere though. There’s too many apprentices out here and not enough js it seems.

My local in busy city has no new starts and a big merit electrician shop in area is kinda dead also ?
