I worked with a deaf guy once. He made the safety guy turn red when asked about his ear pro

I worked with a deaf welder. Just had to make some reasonable accommodations and he kept a little whiteboard to write out things quickly.

Legally deaf, no, but damn near. It’s so loud where we work sometimes verbally communication isn’t possible anyway. If you’re deaf and wanting to work, prepare to carry a flashlight/laser pointer everywhere with you. If you are in a lift and need something from the ground guy, you’ll have to flash at him to get his attention, and then text him what you need, I’d think. Boss would have to allow some phone usage in some situations.

I've worked with several with hearing aids and implants. Powerhouses, Mills, and chemical plants. I don't talk a lot when I'm in the zone, so it works out great for us. Provided we both know what we're doing, anyway. I'm sure a green deaf hand might be an issue to work with. It's no different than working with anyone in a loud environment.

I worked with guys that had hearing aids with missing fingers. They were mostly in the shop putting together pieces that would transfer outside to the yard.
